Miranda Lawson - our favorite woman in the galaxy (III)

My reasons for liking Miranda are 1, 4, and 2, in that order. It's so refreshing to have a female character who is unquestionably competent and doesn't need to be saved physically or emotionally. I know Ieldra says I make too much of her issues, but the point is that she's managed to mostly deal with them on her own. I didn't feel like she needed Shepard to be happy or functional. I don't feel guilty for not romancing her, which paradoxically makes her more attractive.

(7) It helps that she's beautiful (tell me she isn't and I'll give you a few screenshots).
And now I´m eagerly awaiting some screens of the most beautiful ME character, so don´t disappoint.

Well, it depend on what you consider a main character or as I call plot characters. To me a plot character is any character in Mass Effect that is not optional,un kill-able or unavoidable (they at least have to be un kill-able and have one more quality). In Mass Effect one there is a total of five plot characters three npc's and two...Others. Now in you're party there are four fully developed character who don't serve a plot role expect one that has to die. My point is all the party member that where not main plot characters where the ones fully develop. A plot character can't be fully develop because the have to serve a role in main story, static unless there is an option. Good thing Miranda isn't main character in this regardsIeldra2 wrote...
I don't know if you're the only one, but I certainly do not agree. Characters without a role in the main plot usually get less attention and character development. If you think otherwise, explain.Sixth Goul wrote...
I must ask, am I the only who thinks that Miranda could benefit more from not being a main plot point in Mass Effect 3?

And apparently the sole ME2 content at E3 is a demo of the game. It would be nice to get some story-driven DLC, particularly featuring Miranda.
Seems odd offering a demo of a game thats already out, what would be the point of showing this at E3?

I see. You're right in one aspect: characters with character development options, which you can influence, are easier to make if they are not plot-critical. On the other side, a plot-critical character can get as much character development as the writers want him or her to get without any problems, as long as that development path is fixed. Since we want to influence Miranda's character development, maybe it's better that she is not plot-critical, since then her character development would have to be tied to other main plot decisions - as it already is to the decision about the base. Now is that a good thing or a bad thing? Really, I don't know. But I do know that Miranda should be an important character, because unimportant ones tend to get less character development unless the whole game is about them - as in ME2.Sixth Goul wrote...

Goul make some very good points about the character development and all, but Ieldra you are also correct about none plot critical characters getting lees detail paid to them in development, i think the key to this would be finding the perfect balance between the two so that the character can develop without being attached to the plot like Goul said but at the same time has enough attention paid to them to ensure that they are made into a great character just like what Ieldra said, however i imagine finding a 'perfect' balance is hard to come by.
