thanks I will correct that, but I don't think it's a problem because it's the same value

@fongiel:
Thanks ;)

Point taken about the sentence. Things sounding odd in places is exactly what I expect since English isn't my first language. I must really rely on feedback like this in these cases.

"CAE" is "Consolidated Aerospace and Engineering" (I hope this sounds convincing). As for the abbreviation, consider the almost identical one of Earth's biggest defence contractor as of 2010...

Actually your English is better than a lot of native speakers, I'd venture. The first time you mentioned you were from Germany I assumed you were an expat from an English-speaking country.

CAE is interesting. There used to be an American aerospace company called Consolidated. I assume by one of Earth's biggest defence contractors you're referring to BAE? Stupid question... if aerospace refers to the manufacture of aicraft, what would you call the industry devoted to the construction of spacecraft?

Edit: Forgot to ask, can you add a link to a fic I'm writing on the OP? It features M!Shep and Miranda as the key figures and is basically a retelling of ME2, but with some key changes (several of the loyalty missions will feature Miranda or other characters instead of Shepard, I've included a few flashback vignettes, and I'll be modifying the Miranda/Shep romance with a chainsaw). It's similar in concept to what LuxDragon's doing with Fight for the Lost.

It's still aerospace, I believe.

Yep, British Aerospace and QinetiQ are fairly big...

"Aerospace" covers both (I looked it up again, surprised by your comment, since I intended it to cover both).

Of course. Just PM me the link. You may have to wait until tomorrow, since I'll be off soon.

Nice. Is it just me or does her alternate uniform look a lot darker than usual? Is this a recolour, Yannkee?

Does anyone find it odd that for a supposed excellent judge of character, Miranda is shown misjudging others on a consistent basis throughout the series. She was wrong about Feron being only in it for the money. She was wrong about Niket's trustworthiness. She was wrong about TIM. I can't think of any examples where she does correctly size up anyone's motivations.

Maybe, but then again a lot of stuff has gone down. People do things that even the most insightful judge of character might not see coming.

Jacob and Liara. Jacob did his mission like she predicted and she let Liara do the job instead of taking over because she knew that Liara would be able to do the job.

She was right about Feron, but he changed his mind not long after meeting Liara. Miranda wasn't there to reassess the situation.

Niket was a close contact. People tend to be blind to that kind of thing. Even Miranda admitted that weakness.

The Illusive Man is very good. Even Miranda can't see through him. In the new book, even Aria is fooled.

She does underestimate Shepard though. That's something.

I don't think Miranda was wrong about TIM. I think she herself changes. In the beginning, she talks about how humanity couldn't have a better advocate than TIM. At this point however, Miranda may have been shielded from some of Cerberus' more ethically questionable projects.

After seeing the Teltin facility, Overlord, the betrayal on the Collector ship, the dead Cerberus team on the Reaper, and the Collector base, Miranda may have realized that "doing whatever it takes" looks a lot different than she thought it did. She might have always known that TIM was ruthless, but she'd never experienced that ruthlessness firsthand.

Miranda really looks like she's wearing a wig in that picture.

Welcome, Miranda! :lol::lol::lol:

This is one of my favorite Miranda renderings. If only its creator had taken a bit more care about placing her head.

As for the other one: :sick::sick::sick:
SgtPotato, you sure have a knack of posting the distasteful. I recall this thing you posted in the old thread. No, it's not forgotten. And no again, this one's not nearly as bad. From a pure aesthetic point of view, disconnected from Miranda, it's even rather OK. But as a picture of Miranda, it's ugly as well as completely off.

Now, I think that is little bit harsh [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angel.png[/smilie]...
I don't think SgtPotato has intention of damaging the "Miris Image", He may be wanted to add something different to the thread....

Yes, it probably wasn't his intention to make Miranda look like a hooker. Still, he *does* have a knack for posting the distasteful - without being aware that it is. Tastes seem to vary a bit, though. I admit to having been taken aback by it.

Changed the OP:
(1) Added fongiel's fanfic Rebirth to the fanfic list.
(2) Copied all photobucket images except Yannkee's to my domain and relinked them. I have 47 GB monthly traffic left, that should be enough for some time - as long as the whole world doesn't suddenly start reading this thread, as desirable as that may be ;).
