This picture has appeared here several times, and it has been requested removed two times. I repeat that request, unless anyone else besides you finds it "seriously hot" instead of "completely tasteless". Almost any unmanipulated screenshot of Miranda in her loyalty outfit beats this one for making her attractive.

I don't want to be labeled as a troll or some kid who fantasies about Miranda so I'll respectfully edit it out
I'm sorry if what I posted offended anyone

Again sorry

Take it easy... no worries.... this is not a Tali thread...

There will definitly be similarities along the line as she is such definitive character, but there are nuances that many people might that pick up.

Anyway, my favourite (fanfic) author does round about 11 000 words per chapter, my average is 1 500! Need to work on upping the length. My last chapter was about 3 500 words so I am on an upward curve.

Don't worry about length. If the story you're trying to tell in a chapter needs 10,000 words, then write 10,000 words. If it only needs 3,000, then write 3,000. Quality is more important than length. Forcing length risks filling your fic with purple prose.

Deadline to sign up for that ME ficathon jtav was talking about a while back is tomorrow. Anyone else care to join me?

I'm asking for a ME2 prequel where Shepard and Miranda cross paths, kinda Spy vs. Spy ME style.

Link is here if anyone wants to join:

Ha! I actually ended up withdrawing for various reasons, but I've wanted to see a story like that forever. Good luck.

Too bad, I was kinda hoping I could write yours. Ah well, looks like there's some interesting ideas I could try with some of the others.

I've just posted my participation entry. I have this feeling we might end up writing each other's story.

Nice! I'd really like to see a well-written fic of Miranda's femme fatale past too (as I've probably stated at least a dozen times on these forums).

I noticed you put xenophilia as something you didn't want and wouldn't write though. So absolutely no human/alien relations for you? Is it a taste thing, or a plausibility thing?

For me, I don't really care for it but it's a plausibility thing. I find the idea that humans would be anatomically compatible with aliens ridiculous. We're not even really anatomically compatible with most animals on this planet. What are the chances fem!Shep and Garrus could work? If someone can write a compelling story that stresses the relationship side more than the biology side though, I can live with a human/alien pairing.

Edit: BTW Ieldra, I finished reading over your chapter and sent it back via email.

Have fun you two. I'm available as an editor. I just don't need to be working on another story right now. I'm afraid I'd be too tempted to rush this, and you deserve better. *looks forlornly at drafts of Atonement and Miranda/Liara story*

You really haven't noticed any of the countless rants I've posted about this? Plausibility is my issue as well, and for exactly (!!!) the same reason you mention, except that it not only affects physical compatibility, but sexual attraction in the first place. Since as a rule, we aren't even sexually attracted to any other species on Earth, and very likely wouldn't be even if they were intelligent (or could you imagine being attracted to a gorilla?), it's silly to assume this would be anything but an extreme minority taste among species from different star systems. I have no problems with platonic relationships of any depth.

Thanks a lot. Comments are appreciated. There is a serious misunderstanding in the second paragraph I need to work on, apart from that, many things are language issues - apparently I know enough not to be technically wrong all that often, but not enough to see how the flow of words will get across in some places. Would you be willing to continue this for my next chapters?

I'll probably have to take you up on that offer to edit, jtav. I hate posting anything that hasn't been beta'd and my usual beta takes at least a week to get things back to me - that could be bad if I end up finishing my entry close to the deadline.

Sure. You've got a really interesting concept going and beta'ing doesn't take too long.

I just read over the ficathon entries again and now I'm wishing I'd been more specific in what I won't write. I'm praying I don't get the Joker/Jacob drinking buddies or Chakwas/Gardner interaction stories. If I do, I have a feeling I'd end up writing barely past to the 1,000 word minimum due to lack of content to work with.

Xenophilia in fanfic doesn't bother me because it's so rampant in canon. And Kaidan is the only human I like Miranda with. In terms of personality and potential conflicts, my favorite characters to pair her with are two aliens. I know it flies in the face of biology, but I don't care.

I really love Kasumi. She's nipping at Miranda's heels for the position of my favorite character. And Kasumi's loyalty mission strikes me as much more Miranda's arena than Shepard's.

This would definitely be Miranda's kind of mission. I'm planning to use it as the setting for when the Miranda/Shepard relationship in my fic moves from friendship and respect to something more.

Only thing that really bothered me about this mission was that you're restricted to one henchman - Kasumi. Kasumi is useful, but not having an additional henchman made this mission really difficult. Fortunately, us PC gamers have gibbed to deal with that problem .

You'd have to pull the content out of thin air. Not so unusual in the fanfic scene I gather . I read the other entries and let myself be inspired by them in order to make a list of what I'd neither want to read nor write. There are one or two I wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.

As for my current story, it almost writes itself. I have so much stuff running around in my head that I regret I don't have enough time to write five chapters in parallel. I end up putting down fragments just so I don't forget the ideas. If this goes on, this fic will get rather long.

Having said that, I'm having trouble with naming. I've always said "Lawson" couldn't be Miranda's real name, but it refuses to budge as Miranda's father's name. Grrr.... I keep trying.

I have a complete ME2 playthrough where Kasumi and Miranda are almost always in my squad. This is a femShep playthrough, and in my imagination, at the end of the game they're almost as close as family. A triplet of badass females if you've ever seen one. Played this one on Insanity, too.

I like Miranda's personality much more than Kasumi's, though, so there's no competition at all for the position of my favorite character.

Yeah, Lawson being Miranda's original surname is a stretch. Once I tried Solheim (her original concept surname) but it just didn't "feel" right.

http://en.wikipedia....ames_in_Oceania

CAE is based in Tasmania so I would assume there's a strong possibility that Miranda's father is an Aussie. Try some of these names and see if they feel right.

Edit: Here's another list.

http://genealogy.abo...on_surnames.htm

I personally would stick to Caucasian surnames. I realize that with genetic engineering anything is possible, but if her father considered Miranda's blue eyes and pale skin to be the "ideal" I would assume he was of European ancestry himself.

They're shaping up to be my favorite team as well. I'm also playing a FemShep. The only difference is that I'm playing on casual. I've never been good at this game, and it's harder for me to play with a mouse and keyboard than a controller.

This is just to say that the first chapter of my fanfic "Promethean Legacy" about 16-year-old Miranda has been published on fanfiction.net.

Link.

I'd appreciate any reviews and comments, on fanfiction.net or here. The second chapter is already in the works. I promise there will be dialogue in it, even though most of it is only eavesdropped on.

What is there to say? I find it well written, eye-attractive (In the sense of, I can't stop reading) and can't wait for more. As for the current setting of the begining, it seems very fitting to what Miranda probably was raised in but we have to wait for more chapters to see that develop :P

Good job!

I think most of the good stuff has been said, but great thread nonetheless if you guys missed it. Apart from the faux pas the writers made to poor Jacob's prospects of romancing femshep, it sheds a lot of interesting observations to Miranda's character as well.

http://social.biowar...5/index/4603415

I'm also at the point of frustration with mouse problems on the BSN forums. Either click of the mouse button sends me to the thread search function, so much so I can't even read pages in peace. It's the reason why I haven't been posting much. It's driving me crazy, if anyone knows the reason why this is happening and can help me, it would be immensely appreciated. I'm not having fun around here at the moment.

This thread is full of bull****s.
Jacob was turned down by Miranda, he says she requires a better man than him. Simple.
Some Fshep players find this line insulting, so they tried to find other explanations. The first part was interesting but then they started to bash Miranda. The last pages are only about this ridiculous exhibitionism thing .

Not really an interesting thread.
