You can try and have her hold the line alone - if you can get alle the others killed. But apart from that, yes, loyal Miranda does not die on the suicide missions.

I agree that its too easy to have everyone survive, i recon that there should be far more complex variables so that when/if everyone does surivive then it feels like a real ball busting achivment of skill, i mean come on, as long as you do everyone's loyalty mission, upgrade the ship and give the right specs. the right job then its harder to keep yourself alive than it is them, but i suppose they have to cater for the 'wider variey' not just the hardcore epic people like us:D.

As for Miranda and the decision at the base, I said I think Miranda's comment on the base is out of character. Since you can avoid it, it isn't a big matter anymore, but I still maintain that it is. Apart from that, the whole heel face turn at the base if you choose to destroy it feels forced. I think she'd need a bit more convincing before turning away from an organization she's worked for for 19 years.
 

Let me rephrase, not that he's a tool,it's if you meta game both ending with Miranda in your party, he come off as tool in the renegade decision ( going on what we know of the paragon decision.) The problem arises with Miranda's  reason for resigning which is because to TIM she was a tool, well that's what being an employee is(which has nothing to do with the base). To make it short that small talk between Miranda and TIM, can also apply Shepard and TIM value of him, tainting the renegade option and in turn the paragon.

What they should of done for Miranda I think, would have been what they where going to do with Sky from Jade Empire. If you haven't heard the where going to have Sky turn on pc if they where not romanced or reedemed. In Miranda's case romanced or loyal.

I've been arguing practically since the game came out that Miranda should have turned on you if you destroy the base and she isn't loyal.

Lol use the good old Jedi Mind trick, erm, i mean paragon perswade on her, but on a serious level i agree with Yannkee, i would rather it not be like how you explained it above.

I think it would have been in line with her Hardcore Cerberus loyalty. But the way it is in game is Fine with me too. I put it down to Shep's Ideal rubbing off on her, and her getting first hand experience in the type of horrors Cerberus experiments can be. (Also fun fact Vampire Tali is the only squaddie thats immune to upper left blue's charms. She stays firm on her beliefs on the Aleri. )

That would, indeed, have been much better than what we've got. With or without an option to talk her out of it. I only dread what arguments Bioware would have put in Shepard's mouth....

A few weeks ago, we had a discussion about whether Miranda is "a hard woman?" I've been much more thorough in using the Investigate options this time and Samara refers to her as such, approvingly, because she prefers to deal with her burdens alone. I wish we had more interparty banter. I see the potential for friendship there, albeit one complicated by the fact that Miranda has almost certainly done something worthy of death according to the Code. They make an effective combat duo as well.

Jacob - this is a tough one for me as you can see they are 'friends' but i always get the feeling thats there is a little bit of lingering anomisity between them over what happened an uneasy atmosphere as you will, am i the onlny one that feels this?
Thane - maybe but i can't see why though?
Mordin - yes as there both great scientist and Miri admits about envying his time in the STG
Samara - yes as we dissused above.
Liara - yes, we know from the comics.
