You know, well, acting. Pretending she's someone else. Pretty common for spies. I'd think she's very good at it.hooahguy wrote...
What do you mean by "shes acting"?

BTW, I have another problem right now: how can I make Miranda recognizable to the reader if she's acting? So far I let readers into her head, but I have run into one situation where that isn't feasible.
Personally, I'd need more information like context and motivations to even begin suggesting. There's nothing to work with from what you've revealed so far.

People keep saying that if Jack died en route to the CB base, Garrus is somewhat hostile to Miri during the breifing. What does he say to her? Ive always upgraded the ship before I went in, so I never had this happen to me.
Im actually seriously debating with myself whether or not I should purposely not upgrade the Normandy's armor just so Jack will die.

A combo of physical description, slightly arrogant or self satisfied air (not too arrogant, depends of how good of an actress you intend her to be), perhaps faint trace of an accent. Brit/Aussie expressions?
She doesn't really come readily set up with recognizable tics or catch phrases. Perhaps check her combat taunts and comments for hints?
Eh, this might be a distasteful suggestion, but perhaps playing up her tendency to sexily lean on things or slowly sitting and crossing those long legs etc. It's as much camera angles as physical mannerisms, but I think the readers might take the hint.

Don't have the exact quote right now, but he says something along the lines of "nobody trusts you".
@Ieldra - if you're gonna keep it under wraps, I'd say...look for some memorable lines she says in-game and try and tweak and slip them into her dialogue. That would be the most obvious way I can think of so far.

"I settle for nothing but the best" would be an immediate tip off.
That, or a variation of "I'm never wrong."

Check youtube.
Smudboy has it in one of his "critiques of ME2 plot" vids. I think it's the 6 part series about the plot.

Heh....those accents and expressions are hard to pull off for a non-native speakerMox Ruuga wrote...

Actually, this sounds very appropriate for the situation. The fanfic is about Shepard and Miranda meeting each other, both disguised and under cover, about 10 years before the events of ME2. I only have a problem with the scenes written from Shepard's perspective, since I can't look into Miranda's mind from there. But Shepard would pay attention to these things, and the following chapter of the one I'm working on culminates in a sex scene.Eh, this might be a distasteful suggestion, but perhaps playing up her tendency to sexily lean on things or slowly sitting and crossing those long legs etc. It's as much camera angles as physical mannerisms, but I think the readers might take the hint.
@Elyvern:
Thanks for your suggestion, too.
@Mox Ruuga, jtav:
Good suggestions, but probably too unsubtle for the situation.
BTW, I'm looking for someone to beta-read the first two chapters of "Masks and Mirrors" Any volunteers?

Also, I like Jack. And Tali. I don't see why I should have to choose sides between any of the three ladies.

to be honest i dislike Jack as a romance but she is an interesting character but Tali is nice etc but one kiss can kill her and plus I do not think daffy ducks wife wearing a bucket is a turn on in my opinion lol

With the Virmire choice in ME1, and all they hype about impossible odds in ME2, it would feel like a letdown otherwise to me. Makes better drama in any case.
I did do one clean run for the achievement, but it was far too easy to feel like I actually pulled off the "impossible".

Then Miranda is still an excellent choice for a team leader even if she is disliked by some team members. You don't have to be liked by your subordinates when you lead a squad in combat, you have to be competent. (military point of view)

She seems to have this absolute genius for making people hate her. Though she can be quite warm and generous and she makes the effort. The trouble is that she doesn't bother with basic social skills much of the time.

Indeed, but it's something I rather like about her. She doesn't really give a damn about what people think. Probably not a good trait as a leader, but I still like it. I wish I could strike up a friendship with Jack without her coming onto me, or telling me to f**k off, although my renegade shep killed her off because he doesn't like people that disobey his commands. It is indeed a pity that there's so much acrimony between fanbases of certain characters.

I occasionally kill people off for dramatic effect. Tali and/or Garrus usually draw the short straw because their deaths would logically hurt Shepard the most. Miranda is also someone who would make for a good death, dramatically speaking, particularly if she resigns. If I were novelizing the game, I'd kill her. I rarely have the stomach to do so in game.
Tali and Garrus always die in my games. Always, until I get a confirmation that they aren't squaddies in ME3. Their cameoing is their salvation.
There are possible other deaths as well, which can include pretty much everyone. Yes, even Miranda, Samara, or Mordin (my ME2 faves). I haven't actually done one of those extreme games, where you lose everyone beyond 2 squaddies... These can supposedly lead to funny glitches, such as Miranda appearing from beyond the grave to confess to TIM her involvement in the affair of How Jacob Found Out About His Dad.

I was unspoiled my first time, and thought that the suicide mission was more complicated than it actually was. I thought the confrontation was actually a subtle clue that Miranda wasn't a good choice because unit cohesion was vital and that the team would refuse to follow her orders. It is a fun character trait to play around with in a story, though. She's making an effort with Liara, but even then she can be grouchy. And other people...well, iPartners turns out to be fairly representative of her approach to dating.
