What's she saying when she jerks her head?

"Let's go have sex"? "Let's get back to work"? "Let's get some jelly donuts"? "Let's poke Shepard's body with a stick"?

"wanna grab some hot chocolate?"

That's the same thing as saying "let's go have sex".

Honestly, I actually feel like this scene is out of character. Miranda's body language is pretty out of character.

It's so lonely.

Is there anyone out there? Is there truly another who likes both Jack and Miranda, like me? Am I alone in this world?

I like them both, I just like Jack a slight bit more.

Mmmm...didn't see it that way because...what the heck, we can't even begin to figure what they're talking about. However, I was quite impressed with the animation, even with the consideration that it's grainy cctv-style footage. I felt it was rendered far more fluid and natural than alot of the cutscene animations in the main game. Almost...like a lot of work for what seems like a nothing. *cues conspiracy music*

I like Jack and Miranda, Night. You're not alone. As I've said before, I place more of the blame for the fight with Miranda because I don't feel Jack is responsible for her actions to the same degree Miranda is. They're both damaged--Jack much more so--and in ways that practically guarantee they'd want to throttle each other even if Miranda wasn't with Cerberus. Jack lashes out. Miranda is above all, controlled. Jack hurts people physically. Miranda prefers cutting, even cruel, words. As a player, it's all quite fascinating to watch. The confrontation is both their moral low points. Jack is threatening to kill Miranda. "Clearly, you were a mistake" is a vile thing to say (and something I suspect Miranda's father said to her). Both of them mean it.

As for the video, my gut says that she was offering sex. There are days I root for them to reconcile. It depends on how recently I've played through Jacob's LM vs. how recently I've played through one of the bits that makes me want to strangle Jacob and/or his writer. I find the debrief scene oddly romantic and better than anything their romances get outside of DLC.

But we can begin to figure it out, we're obsessive fans! We have ways.

Aren't there any lipreaders among us? Or let's just read body language. Jacob begins by gesturing at a piece of medical equipment, right? So what does that mean?

Seriously, if I listen to the Anderson/Cerberus agent garble, I can actually hear the words "Commander Shepard".

I must find out what Jacob and Miranda are saying.

I really need to make a return trip to the SB ship so I can finally see this infamous clip. All I've ever seen is Jacob doing situps on the floor and that makes me sad because no matter how many situps I do, my abs don't look like that. I suspect Jacob is juicing...

*lightbulb* I think I just figured out how Jacob gets that ripped despite the fact the SR-2 doesn't even have so much as a treadmill - he stole Shepard's abs from the Lazarus Project! That's what he and Miranda are discussing. The reason Shepard has such an ordinary body despite the fact Lazarus pumped billions of credits in him is that Jacob stole his ab/pec implants! :o

i certainly agree re the animations. at the end of the day what is said isn't important - it could have been about work just as much as personal (and their relationship history is already known). tbh it doesn't look like a "come and plough me now" situation - especially as other people are in earshot.

all my playthroughs seem to be stuck on one of the three animation loops, so i never get this scene anymore.

Run in and out of the SB lair to the Normandy 2 times, and it'll cycle to the third round.

You know what's even more interesting about that vid? It has multiple angles. Most of the other vids watch like real survelliance images, static perspective. I don't understand why this one has several, literally like a cut scene. Maybe it was a cut scene that got axed!

hmmm recycled cut-scene during lazarus? could be, and would have made sense if they were originally going to introduce the re-animation in more of a cut-scene way - similary to the "wake-up" scene (including some of the new characters), originally. i presume they moved away from that precisely to better introduce jacob etc actually in-game instead.

You asked, Night. I like Miranda/Jacob in a doomed, dysfunctional way. Honestly, I have all my shipping bases covered when it comes to Miranda. I have Kaidan for when I want banter and a kind of Dating Catwoman scenario, Thane for starcrossed lovers and the irony of Miranda "so don't die" Lawson falling for the dying man, Liara for a lot of things that jumble together to make an OTP, and Jacob for a tragic disaster. I'm aware this makes me strange on the thread.

I know, I have replayed this several times.  Maybe Jacob is talking about the project.   The garbled mess sounds like... data simulated... we come to late? big waste of a year? (No idea if this is right just my hypthosis)
She clearly says "No."  and then let's go....

For some reason I really hate it when people mention that Jacob and Miri were ever together. Kinda like an unfounded jealousy that Miri was with anyone besides Shep.

That last online dating site correspondence also gets on my nerves.

Am I the only one who has no problem with Miranda/Jacob? Or do I not count due to my idiosyncratic preferences? I have a few problems with iPartners, mostly because I don't think her approach is entirely healthy. She radiates contempt for these men. No problem with her having casual sex in general though.

I think they could actually work, jtav. Jcob is a little of an idealist but not too much so, considering he went to Cerberus. There seems to be some slight lingering feelings there. I wouldn't mind if they ended up together if my main Shepard decides to remain loyal to Ashley. I haven't made up my mind on that yet lol.

I don't think their long-term prospects are good, but there's definitely lingering feelings there. Personally, I'd pair her with Kaidan (or Liara but that'll never happen).

I don't have a problem with iPartners, but Miranda/Jacob...well, while I wouldn't begrudge them a little friendship, any more is not something I'd like to see rekindled, even in fanfic.

In games where I play femSheps, I'd pair her with Kaidan. But only then. So far I haven't managed to stay away from Miranda with a maleShep.

I'm not, like, insane-o jealous of the history, I just am totally disinterested in that coupling.

Actually I'm totally disinterested in a lot of fanfic couplings. A lot.

I want to know more about Miranda, which is why I want to know what happened between them. And believe it or not, I want to know why Jacob is so surly, and that's another reason why I want to know what happened between them.

How do you get that surveillance vid? I've finished LotSB with six Shepards now, and revisited the ship two times with one of them and one time with another, but I never got that video. Is there anything I can do?

I see no "feelings", except from his side. But there's quite a bit of that actually, he tends to bring Miranda up in his convos with Shep, in a distinctly wistful manner.

My theory about their relationship is that it started from mutual physical attraction and friendliness, but when Jacob started getting those "love" feelings (and my theory is it didn't take him long), Miranda called the whole thing off. I can see Jacob being resentful about it, while still carrying a torch for her, but trying to put up a front of having handled it and put it past him. Miranda, OTOH, never loved him and never will. Even her friendship with him is sort of... lesser version of his. IMO Niket she considered a true friend without conditions. Jacob, a friend yes... but she always seems a bit wry and condescending when addressing him.

Their's is an interesting dynamic. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it, because it's one of the few squaddie to squaddie dynamics in the game...

You'll need to leave and come back a third time. There are three sets of videos.
