Ieldra, I think you may be right about why I torture Miranda in speculation and story ideas. I am an unhappily lapsed Roman Catholic who managed to retain chunks of the moral and ethical viewpoint. So I am coming at Miranda from a critical angle, though the only thing I find truly repulsive is the control chip. And I only made it hard in one story and am beginning to doubt there will be others.

I liked the control chip.  I mean I didn't like the control chip itself I liked the fact she was so honest and it also showed how she puts her mission ahead of everything without apologies.  Or at least strives to do that.

I have gotten back into my ME1 ultimate run through.  Liara is rescued and now I have tons of side quests to do.  Man the generic planet/MAKO/generic base part is boring.  I use maps, that is how boring it is.  So glad we did not get that back.

I always might change my mind but at the moment to me, saving the base some how feels wrong. The main problem is that I don't know what TIM wants to use the base for exactly, so it makes hard to choose but his history kinda points to something that is not gonna go well.

Of course it won't go well if you give TIM the base. That's not the question. The question is: will it go worse if you destroy it? If what we're facing were anything less than an extinction event, I wouldn't have to think long of the decision - I'd destroy the base however much it pained me.

But we've been back and forth about this several times. I'll go back to my game - this Renegade Shepard is going to keep the base because she wants to secure human domination. Not my usual kind of Shepard....

That did not come ot the way wanted to say it but anyways, I'm going to do another playthrough and see if I can up with anything else.

Rephrase stuff like defining her relationship with Shepard, her desires out of life. Her stance with Cerberus, does she accept keeping the collector an a necessary "evil". Get over being a "tool", and having a real life.

I hope,that the thing you're suggesting would be optional. I'd love it if Miranda did the exact opposite and say... Ha, You got whatt you deserve stupid b**** *gun shot to head*. Thats my version of them coming to head.

I want her to start figuring out who she is apart from her association with Cerberus and realize she, herself, is "worth it." Some sort of detente with Jack would also be welcome, as would her developing friendships with people who aren't Shepard. I'd prefer most of her development be independent of the romance as I don't especially care for it (and Night I've decided that I DO hate writing it that much. Remind me when I start babbling it about ideas again)

Why is you're Shepard interested in Miranda, instead of someone else? Key words you're Shepard, I think its more interesting giving character reasons that are dictated by the player.

I wonder how Miranda would react to the Overlord ending?  I assume most have played it here, correct?

I guess it depends on how far along you are in the game and romance. IF you finished the game and played Overload, she's resigned and I think has a different outlook on the Cerberus experiments. If not I think she woudl still try to justify it like Archer did.

We've been over that in the last few pages. It seems to be consensus that this might remove some of her illusions about TIM.

In most of my games she doesn't resign, so that's no argument. But I'd say staying with TIM has its unpleasant aspects for her after this.

I did the mission before the suicide mission, so I imagine it instills some doubt into Miranda about Cerberus and their methods. The ending to Overlord was pretty damn powerful, I don't know how she couldn't be affected by it, knowing how she reacts to the human Reaper at the Collector base.

oh, you keep the base most of the time? Well then I think my two options are still relivent then. If she remains loyal to Cerberus she will try to explain it away liek she does al lthe other experiments in ME 1. IF she's not anymore she will most liekly not like whats being done.

I never keep the base...I listen to Miranda. I always take her, as I feel she's the best companion to have there...it's the most satisfying ending, IMO.
