Miranda: Of course, if we all put our past behind us and settle things like adults, we can all get along.
Jack: HECK NO YOU CHEERLEADER

Miranda was a cold b*tch in that fight and Jack was a violent immature b*tch. They were both b*tches.

This is assuming ME3 will even address Miranda and Jack's hostilities, which it likely won't.

I almost thought it was out of character for Miranda to get all upset at you for siding with Jack. She's ordinarily all logical and mature, and then acts like a schoolgirl about that argument with Jack. I dunno it just seemed wrong for her character.
Why wouldn't she? Jack stormed into Miranda's personal space, demanding recognition for Cerberus' wrongdoing from someone who feels she wasn't responsible for Jack's plight. Jack then attempts to inflict physical violence by throwing things biotically at Miranda, and threatens to kill her. To add insult to injury, Shepard then takes Jack's side. It would be hard on anyone, not just someone like Miranda.

Yannkee posted the settings a couple of pages back here.
However, Ieldra2 said there can be problems, in certain areas, affected by the change here.
I wouldn't know much more, myself, I'm currently stuck playing on the 360.

I don't. Not unless Jack physically attacks her. I like the way the fight in the game plays out, with Miranda just doing the minimum necessary to avoid Jacks attack, stepping aside, fighting back with words. It shows more than anything else that she is in control of the situation.hooahguy wrote...
I just want to see Miri falcon punch Jack.
It's too bad that so much of Jack's character development is tied to the romance. I can imagine Miranda and Jack could come to a grudging respect for each other after the Omega-4-relay mission, though they'd never be friends. Only if we romance Miranda, we don't see anything changing in Jack that would justify such a change. That means in the end of these games Jack is more or less the same person who attacked Miranda on the Normandy, which is why so many of us don't like her.

You captured the scene with Oriana very well. I also like the Miranda/Enyala fight. But is it possible I've read that chapter, or parts of it, somewhere else some time ago? It seems very familiar, beyond being familiar from the game.LuxDragon wrote...

Oh okay. Well, yeah, Miranda would perhaps be easier to reason with than Jack, but I rather hoped the Collector mission would be a bonding experience for everyone and that Miranda's resignation from Cerberus would make an impact on Jack.
This is assuming ME3 will even address Miranda and Jack's hostilities, which it likely won't.
i'm still hoping for a follow-up confrontation, tbh - i think some more character conflict would be great (with various ways to resolve it).

My mistake.
I forgot to edit the settings before copy/paste. (The screenshot I posted yesterday was with DoF=false)
I also use nHancer (only for nvida card) to force AA, AF and the AA compatibility.

of course you need a good rig not to slow framerates with those settings (anyone copying) so be warned! alternatively bump the resolution up - has much the same effect without so much performance hit.

Here's a topic we haven't discussed in a while: how is Miranda going to keep Oriana safe in games where she resigned? Even if TIM doesn't immediately decide he wants her head on a platter, he now has no reason to protect Oriana. It may be to her benefit to find a new "patron," but the only possibility that comes to mind is Liara. Unless she deals wiith her father once and for all.
I'm not sure anything has changed from a practical standpoint. TIM protects Oriana because it's the cheapest way of ensuring Miranda's loyalty. Once Miranda resigns, it's the cheapest way to keep her mouth shut and stop her from either helping the Alliance/Council find him or coming after Cerberus herself. Sure, he could send assassins after her, but Miranda didn't become one of his top agents by being easy-to-kill. Keeping Oriana alive and protected is a useful means of blackmail. I don't think TIM reconsiders continuing to protect Orianna until at least after ME3.

I'd be happy with them not using any for each other.Elyvern wrote...
I was also thinking of terms of endearment Shepard and Miranda would use on each other and came up with....nothing. I think she's likely to be uncomfortable addressing people like that, although she does call Oriana Ori. Shepard could probably get away calling her Miri, but anything else and she'll object.
This brings me to another instance of "writers don't know what they're writing about": I just checked the dossier to see if Miranda really calls Oriana "Ori", and read this part again:
Miranda: Your mark in Late 20th century Earth history is below the standard deviation.[...]
I've always wondered if the medical report was intended to sound incompetent or if the writer didn't know what (s)he was writing about. After having read this, I tend to the latter. You'd think that the writer would've had the sense to look up what "standard deviation" means before using it in a way that doesn't make any sense.
