We've pretty much reached a thread consensus that Overlord is going to deeply rattle Miranda and sets up her resignation nicely. But what if she doesn't resign? She seems to be having a severe crisis of faith in the Renegade ending. How is her character going to progress in ME3 if you kept the base? I like to imagine she works up the courage to resign anyway, but I doubt Bioware will go there.

How can Miranda resign from Cerberus with a Femshep? I've seen her disconnect TIM with maleshep....





I always find it weird being in a character love thread, since I'm a woman and play a woman... and I can't gush about the romance for 300+ pages...

Am I the only one who has the sneaking suspicion that things are not going to end well for Miranda in ME3, particularly as regards her romance? Mostly because I can't shake the theory that Shep's restored memories are due to him being partly a VI/AI or implanted with Reaper tech. Which isn't bad in itself, but Miranda didn't tell him. If we're being set up for a Tomato in the Mirror revelation for ME3, I can't see that ending well for anybody.

I don't think that BW would pull that it would be too cheesy if you get me, i think everyone would be like 'oh we saw that coming' and it would ruin the trilogy, and i dont thing they will do that, i think they will want something unquie to end the trilogy with.

Just bring her with you to the final boss and destroy the base. She resigns regardless of romance or loyalty.

And join the club on the weirdness. I've become infamous around here for being indifferent to the romance and preferring her with others. I'm the only one here who likes Miranda/Jacob.

But Miranda deserves only the best, and the best for her is my Shepard.

It's mostly the scene after his loyalty mission. She cares enough about him to defy TIM and gives him a very pained "I never meant to hurt you" look. And it's painfully obvious he's still in love with her. That said, I also like her with Thane, Liara, and Kaidan. I am trying her actual romance again. No promises though.

Would it be too bold to say Bioware is annoyed with making male love interest for females. I  say its safe to say there is no male equivalent to Miranda or any other female character of any Bioware game. Playing a female character in Mass Effect is like this www.youtube.com/watch but with bad male love Interest. Glad I only male better option of Miranda:wub:.

I think it depends on where Bioware makes the Renegade path go. If Shepards stays with Cerberus, then I doubt they'll make her do anything drastic. But perhaps they'll make her question Shepard from time to time. If Cerberus is set up as antagonist, for instance if TIM gets indoctrinated or goes too far even for a Renegade Shepard, then she'll have another chance to get away.

On the other side, having her take over Cerberus from TIM because she's disillusioned with the way he does things, maybe on a mission where Shepard helps her, that would give the player the opportunity to influence Miranda's character development, and through her, influce where Cerberus will go. If they're serious with the LIs, they'll give the player that chance. It's happened in other games, so I'm a little opmistic.

I suspect the same way a maleShep does it: if you destroy the base, Miranda will resign. It doesn't depend on the romance.

You'll fit in here nicely! We're not the gushing types...mostly. We talk about Miranda as a character at least as much as about the romance.

We can only hope, but at the same time i also want her to be  a squadmate and LI in ME3, i will be devestated of they pull something similar to Ash on horizen, that would destory me a little i think.

Hey! They do a pretty good job on the guys. Trust me, there is a horde of Garrus, Kaidan, and Thane fangirls. And that doesn't even count Liara/FemShep.

I don't know if you're the only one, but I certainly don't share your premonition. I'd be very surprised if Bioware sneaked that in on us. And even it proves true: if not telling him was necessary for him to function as he had to, then I'd not hold that against her. My Shepard would say "I'm back, and that's better than dead, even if there was some risk involved." Only if his memory had been tampered with, that he wouldn't forgive.

I must admit it took me some time to warm up to Kaidan, but I agree that he's great. And he's a surprisingly good match for Miranda - I wouldn't mind if they began something together in those games where neither are my Shepards' LI. **looks through list of  Shepards*** Eh...there isn't one. My two femSheps who aren't with Kaidan have both left him on Virmire. Well, it wouldn't happen anyway.

They certainly don't have a good record for making LIs for (straight) female protagonists. But while there's no male equivalent for Miranda, both Kaidan and Thane have been well received by female players. Thane is a very interesting character, I only can't romance him with my femSheps because I can't connect to his personality. 

Having said that, Miranda has managed to temporarily suspend my habit of playing mostly female protagonists if it's possible. No character in a game has done that before.

You know Ieldra, you could make a Shepard who didn't romance either and have Kaidan survive. Bo, it wouldn't ever happen. That has stopped me exactly never.

Yes, I could. But I already have seven Shepards....and I'm a completionist, so I'll play them all through ME3. OK...maybe I'll replay one of them from Virmire...

Don't do that before you've had a good experience with Miranda's romance.

I'm working on it. Should just use my last Shep, but 1) he romanced Liara and I really don't want to pause my game for ten minutes while I make a comparison chart to help me decide in ME3 and 2) I'm trying to play an Infiltrator for the first time. I'm not good at it.

I played 1 FShep in ME1, and I romanced Kaidan. It was great. But, I can't play a Fshep anymore because of Miranda


Tomorow I will start my "canon" ME1 + ME2 playthrough : 

- Male Shepard, infiltrator, Earthborn, War Hero, paragade (most paragon than renegade)
- No Romance in ME1, Miranda romance only
- Rachni Queen alive, Ash virmired, Council dead, Wrex alive, Collector base destroyed

Damn it! Now I'm getting Kaidan/Miranda ideas. The reason you never see stories from me any more is because I have trouble focusing on one. Worse, you're making me want to abandon my currebt playthrough and romance Kaidan. Thanks a lot.
