Too bad you can't kill Liara. The possibility of Miranda being subordinate to her would make me do it.
Noooooooo!
No, kill.
I'll sick Jack on youuuu! (I'm being funny, here.
I am pretty sure Miranda has her own Intel of contacts she can use to help out. She could add to the Shepard/Liara team.

I think Miranda's main talents lie in science and intelligence. Cerberus combines those in a way that fits her perfectly. Take away the human supremacist angle and the atrocities, but otherwise keep the goals, and it would continue to be perfect for her after her perspective on Cerberus changes. Maybe she could take the resources and bring them into another organization with a less contaminated name.
@jtav:
I think she must have those talents. Her backstory makes it necessary. I didn't notice that until recently, but Miranda as you wrote her for Persistence is more defective in that area than her backstory would allow for.
@enyasoul:
Don't take me wrong. I also like both characters. But Liara as Miranda's boss, the idea is almost as grating as her infertility. The other way round would be as annoying, only I can't see there's much danger of that.

Well, if Miranda stays Shepard's XO... and gets some goody intel from Liara. Even better, added to her own...
Maybe Liara isn't her boss but work in cooperation together.

@jtav:
I take the backstory into account when envisioning Miranda's character and her future, not only the stuff we see on screen. I see it as a limit of the medium that not more of the social skills she must undoubtedly have can be shown.

Something I would ask about The Illusive Man - do you think it is a certainty that he would seek revenge against Miranda for her resignation - maybe not straightaway but he would play the waiting game and bide his time or would he take a pragmatic view and cut his losses and let it go? Can't help but worry about Oriana...

But if someone were to force me to do so (and i will most likely end up hurting said person), I'd have her on some terminal on Illium or Bekenstein in contact with one of her informants about the Reapers or...something else. How many of you think that the Batarians are actually Reaper sleeper agents? Well, they attack everyone, nobody likes them, and they isolate themselves from everyone else...

TIM as shown in the games might cut his losses. TIM as shown in the books, never. So it could go either way depending on how Bioware decides to develop TIM as a character.Mr Plow wrote...

Yes he did take things rather personally in Retribution - and it very nearly cost him. Very careless indeed...
I'm not one of those he despises TIM and wants to eliminate him. He is a charismatic and intewresting character but should he come after Shepard and Miranda...

Is there anything in the game that contradicts that aspect of his personality laid out in the books? He seems pretty freaking pissed if you destroy the base. I know that he always tells Shepard to see the bigger picture and put aside his feelings, but I can't think of any line or incident in the game that suggests that the Illusive Man won't be swayed by his own vengeful desires.

Time to play the 'Which Game Quote is This?'! 8P
Anyways, TIM would most likely cut his losses and run. He isn't stupid, that's for sure, and he of all people should know that messing with Shep's girl (Miranda) or with any of his crew is a one way ticket to hell from Shep.

In the books, he's practically foaming. I consider that OOC for a character who's been manipulating things behind the scenes for 25 years. I don't recall what he says when you destroy the base, I haven't done that for quite some time, but it's not nearly as bad as in the books. There he comes across as a cardboard villain.ToshiStation38 wrote...

I hope not. Helping her out against someone coming after her (or her sister) is not something I'd like to see repeated in ME3. I'd rather have some plans of her own being the reason.jtav wrote...
I think he may very well go after Miranda and that could be the circumstances under which we meet her again.

I'm also curious to see what these rumored DLC's that are supposed to come out between now an ME 3 will have an effect on the state of your crew. If not (hopefully) I doubt there will be much change in ME 3 as we've seen between the first to games.

I think you could easily have a DLC for Miranda where her father is trying to kill Miranda and her and Shepard go out to stop him similar to what happened with LotSB. Miranda's dad is suppose to be one of the richest people in the galaxy he's bound to have a small army of mercs he can call on.
I highly doubt they will have a character specific DLC like that. The only reasons they were able to do LotSB is because Liara had lots of angery fans, (that sorry exuse of a role she played on illium) not very many people really disliked her and the mission had very stong ties to the games backstory.
Truthfully I don't think there are enough of us Miri lovers to counter all the haters out there that wouldn't buy a DLC that was stongly related or centered around Mirianda.

I never understood the love for Liara... I suppose she was the only mildy interesting character when next to the two boring human options.
I liked the other two characters, but I have sort of agree with you on Liara, I say sort of because they did a much better job with her character in LotSB.
I think Mirianda has the same if not more character depth than liara, just not enough people have even tried to find that out.

I really love their facial expressions and body language. They both look so badass, yet in a sophisticated sort of way. I can just imagine the banter.
Miri: You clean up nicely, Shepard.
Shep: Bet you'd like to see me out of these clothes too.
Miri: *rolls eyes* This is a bit more expensive of a venue than the Normandy. I'm sure you have the patience to wait until the end of the play.
Shep: Miranda, it's ELCOR HAMLET. 500 credits says I can drive you nuts before the end of Claudius's wedding without laying a finger on you.
Miri: You're such an ass
Shep: I'll take that as a yes
