... huh, not sure how I missed that after all these playthroughs. At either rate both of Oriana's parents have a far darker skintone than she does, so that answers the "does she know she's adopted" question.

I can't believe this. I've played Miranda's loyalty mission about 10 times now, and I never noticed that her adoptive parents' skin is much darker than hers.

Indeed, very good, but it's easy to say that those people aren't her parents of course. So you can't really draw any conclusions, if Bioware thinks it's important that Orianna knows almost nothing they'll just dub those people friends instead of family. Makes sense too, those friends saying goodbye.

Eh, I'm not interested in battle armour for Miranda. Something a little more practical would have been nice, but full on battle armour is too much. She's an intelligence operative, not a frontline soldier.

That's no armor, that's just another kind of skintight suit, and it's almost as bad as Miranda's white outfit. I also agree with fongiel: full battle armor would not be appropriate for her.



But the cartoon is nice.

So someone who is a Mirandaexpert... why does she choose the engine room? Intentionally to ****** off Tali, or because she's naughty like that?

To be plain: Bioware probably selected the engine room for her because they thought it was cool. Obviously, that misfired – the engine room scene is controversial even among her fans. To answer the common “exhibitionism” claim: in spite of various manipulated pictures flying around the forums the place where  Miranda and Shepard meet cannot be seen by anyone on the Normandy with the exception of Tali, who was relocated for that scene. For the common "rub it in my rivals face" claim: see above, and depending on how you play your Shepard, she might not have rivals. Both these claims are pure invention by people with a knee-jerk dislike of her. Apart from that, there are a number of in-world rationalizations for Miranda’s decision to use the engine room, for instance that she selected it because it was neutral territory, that a meeting in her or Shepard’s room would give it a power imbalance, or that it's the only unbugged place of the ship.

It's the rationale I choose, because I really doubt we'll ever get an explanation from Bioware.

I'm seeing some posts that say renegade Shepard and Miranda have different romance dialoge options. Is that true?

Not quite what you mean there - there are differences in conversation depending on whether you choose the top or bottom options on the dialogue wheel, but you don't get extra dialogue if you're heavily slanted one way or another.

You might want to check this. It's an online dialogue tree created by Gutty containing all of Miranda's dialogue with Shepard whilst on the Normandy.

Also: Miranda is hawt, I want to bully Mordin into using his "fertility" speciality on Miranda (obvious opposite direction of the genophage, wink wink) so I can make her my baby momah.
