Strange...where's my last post gone?

@Ryzaki:
Loyal Samara can hold the line alone. And well, I do agree Miranda would probably not be able to recruit Garrus after considering what you wrote. Heavy casualties, yes, but when you count who survives the picture appears worse than it is, because she starts out with 6 and of those six, if all are loyal, two die. Well, maybe three if she doesn't choose Jacob as second team leader. The crew will be gone, though.... *shudder* I don't know, but I think I couldn't stand the sight of that empty ship if the crew dies. One thing I never did in the game.

Agreed. It always makes me :crying: when I realize everyone is gone. No more "This food tastes like ass!" or the guy talking about his kid.

Ah yeah but my real reason for considering heavy casulties is because of the background crew. Her suggesting to leave them behind just made me.

Miranda Lawson Wishlist for ME3

*Miranda has oversexualized outfits in ME2. We wish her to have less aggressively sexualized and all-in-all more convincing ones (Compare Liara's LotSB outfit). No exposed skin in space, please, and no high heels on outfits she wears on combat missions!

I have noticed in a couple of threads Miranda fans supporting her current appearance and prefering it to armour.

But then I saw this in the OP wishlist.

So I'm curious, is the general concencus among [hardcore] Miranda fans that she should have less sexualised armour and the people who do support the sexualised armour are in the minority.

Or is the removal of the sexualised armour simply a personal preference of Ieldra?

I think most of the people who post here come down on the side of less sexualized armor. I certainly do.

I prefer her actual outfit. And what is posted here don't represent the opinion of all Miranda fans.
Many hardcore fans don't even post in this thread.

I'd also like to say that, as someone who is predominantly a Liara fan but also loves Miranda, I hope that she is attired in non-sexualised armour in ME3. Miranda's clothing has always been something that I have disliked about her character, and I hope this is rectified in the next game.

Her costume looks ridiculous. Lose the heels, cover the cleavage, and make it look like it's not painted on to her skin. She doesn't look sexy. She looks cheap. Give her something that looks like she's meant to fight in it.

Of course her original outfit can be toned down a tad, but I just can't picture Miranda ever consenting to wearing a power ranger outfit (armor).

It certainly seemed a majority opinion at the time when I put the item in, not only among hardcore fans, but among many who like Miranda but aren't exactly fans. It was also one of the most common complaint in the early days. It isn't exactly the most important thing I put into the list, from my point of view. I *would* like a less sexualized outfit, but I can live with the loyalty outfit. I also have the lithograph (since today, yay!) and have no problem with hanging it on my wall.

About the "many" fans who don't post here, well, that's a claim easily made, since most Miranda fans have left BSN for good like everyone's fans, for time having passed and people having moved on. But the implied "this is a minority opinion" could be verified if those "many" fans bothered to post that they like the outfits and don't want them changed. Anyone care to make a poll?

This.

Just to be clear: if the loyalty outfit was a civilian outfit, I'd have no problems with it. But for actual combat and for space exploration, it's ridiculous. Also, only the white outfit looks cheap IMO.

I wouldn't have a problem with her loyalty outfit being her on ship/hub outfit, but the white outfit is cringeworthy in any context.

This.

I do not want to see her cameltoe it's just classless fo a commanding officer. *And yes I feel the same way about Jacob's superhero costume. They're ridculous.

And yes fighting in heels is just....blah. I don't know about you but if I'm running from husks/a praetorian I'm not going to be in heels.

I would certainly like the high heels to go, that was pushing the suspension of disbelief for me.

Otherwise I'm fine with the current outfit, I thought it meshed nicely with Miranda seeing her genetics, and by extension herself, as just a tool to be used by TIM.

Just an excuse for fanservicey costumes? Maybe. But fanservice isn't always such a terrible thing, and in this case I thought the fanservice fit the character well once you learnt how she ticks.

If she actually used her appearance on missions, I'd agree with you. There are hints that she considers her body just another tool to be used, but it's never really followed up on in game. It be more interesting if it was and give a reason for the fanservice.

I'm throwing my support behind the Mass Effect 1 style of costumes. Uniforms on ship, armor off it. It seems that many here are for that.

Personally, I never claimed that my opinion was the "majority opinion". I was responding to someone who thought he would have the answer of most of the hardcore fans here.

And do you really think that all Miranda fans are or were members of the BSN ? I spoke to more Miranda fans who never post here or don't even know this forum than "BSN Miranda fans". It's a pity because many of them have interesting opinions (some I agree with, some I don't). And I hope Bioware won't consider only the BSN members opinion, otherwise I fear the worst for ME3.

BTW, the only thing which bother me is the breathing mask and the high heels during some missions.

Miranda did not suggest leaving the crew behind. She argued against Shepard escorting them back to the ship personally. There's a difference.  She did not raise any objections to sending a single escort to get them back safely.

Why does everyone want an excuse to make her seem like a heartless bastard (TIM). She isn't like TIM, nothing like him. Acting too professional can make people seem like ****s though, specially at the start of the game. She acted like a real douch in the first 30 minutes of the game. I was really relieved when she started to open up in the Normandy.

Because some of us like her that way.She says that they can't afford to go back, and if there's no one who can serve as escort, Shepard agrees with her. I think she meant none of the team could be spared.

No, of course I don't think everyone has been here at some time. There must be tens of thousands who like Miranda, and I know very well we're a minority here. All we can do is try to give Bioware things to think of. They'll have their own vision of where things will go, and possibly their own way to get players' opinions. But you must admit that the sexualized outfit has been a very common complaint.

Complaints, there is nothing else in the forums.
To me the Miranda outfit complaint is as common as other complaints I find completely pointless. But it's just my opinion.

Perceptions differ.

I don't think she's a heartless bastard when she makes her recommendations. She's a tactician keenly aware of the fact that they don't know what they're up against, and that leaving any team member behind may doom the mission. In fact, we *do* know that she's *not* a heartless bastard - listen to the crewmen talking about when Miranda got a family moved from a colony suspected to be the Collectors's next target. They know that they can trust her to do well for them - if the mission can afford it.

Also, I liked her on Lazarus station. Here's a woman who doesn't fall at your feet just because you're Mr.Protagonist. She remains professionally distant, focused on the job. She doesn't want a personal relationship at that point. What's wrong with that? In fact, I find Shepard annoyingly intrusive when he asks for personal details a few minutes after having met her for the first time. Shepard has to earn her regard. I like that.

Which I think is weird and I hope they don't start to turn her to that direction. I want a proper character, not one that eats babies for breakfast and spits acid. <_<

I personally think that she was just against having whole team to escort the crew. ^_^
