Hmm...fair enough. Tell you what; I have to go to class for the next 4 hours or so, but when I get back I'll try and tweak the higher resolution texture to remove that "blotchy" appearance that you guys are seeing. If the tweaks don't work, then I'll simply release a version of the mod with her original face texture.Elyvern wrote...
I can think of a reason why some people may encounter that blotchy skin syndrome. Alot of us play at far lower resolutions than you because of hardware limitations and such. Your anti-aliasing is ridiculously good for example. Assuming that most people don't run the game on high-end machines, you have to factor in what's the general level of experience for people with mid-range to low-range machines.
Fair deal?

That sounds like a very good message for the minute I come in. Thanks.JeanLuc761 wrote...

BTW, I don't have an exactly low-range machine, though it is three years old, and I play in 1920x1200 with everything enabled that the game lets me enable, but no .ini tweaks or suchlike. My opinion is also not only about what's in my game. Compare your screenshot quoted above Yannkee's long sequence on the previous page with Yannkee's first screenshot in that sequence. I think in Yannkee's screenshot Miranda looks much more beautiful and not at all creepy or unnatural, and in yours she looks as if she had freckles.

Most of that comes down to the ini tweaks that Yannkee's using.Ieldra2 wrote...

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of disabling DOF and the other tweaks he did, but that just comes down to personal preference. With his tweaks, textures take on more of an "airbrushed" tone as opposed to the detailed look that's present in my images. Also, I assure you that those aren't freckles, just subtle variations in skin tone
Either way, I'll see what I can do to mitigate the problem when I return from class.

I didn't respond at all. These are two responses to the idea that her sex appeal weakens her. I just collected them. I do wish she'd actually used her appeal as a weapon.
And she'd be damn good at it too. She even says to Shep that her looks are part of what gives her an edge over other people, and Miranda's a pragmatic person. She'd definitely use every advantage she has to succeed.

Alright folks, here is my revised version of Miranda's face (now with smoother skin, yet still high in detail).
What think?
I'm still not sure if I like your version or Yannkee's better. Do you have the scene where she whispers in Shepard's ear for comparison? Though Depth-of-Field switched off may screw with the results. Heck, I've never paid as much attention to Miranda's skin texture, and my own screenshots use less detail, so I can't use them for a comparison.

I can get that screenshot for you. Removing DOF does screw up the results though, so it's not a fair comparison.Ieldra2 wrote...

I think I do prefer your version. I'd still like to have a look at that screenshot, since I'm very familiar with the scene.JeanLuc761 wrote...
