Options are always good. I support an outfit selection, though exposed skin in space shouldn't be an option IMO. What I really want is that the on-mission outfits and the shipboard outfits are different, as it is with Shepard. So we could have sexy outifts on the ship and non-ridiculous combat outfits while on a mission. Miranda's outfits are nothing she'd want to wear anywhere she doesn't want to be extra-conspicuous. Bioware was aware of that or we wouldn't have Enyala's comment.

Rule#33 of the Evil Overlord List:
I won't require high-ranking female members of my organization to wear a
stainless-steel bustier. Morale is better with a more casual
dress-code. Similarly, outfits made entirely from black leather will be
reserved for formal occasions.

TIM, I'm looking at you. :huh:

Edit: You know, that "five-year-old child as advisor" would be helpful too... :whistle:

 OK...I've just run the first section of text on the page on Xbox Japan detailing the new appearance pack and Google translates it to the following:

The fire power pack will add new weapons arsenal to three shepherd: "Heavy" is useless when the pistol, the Phalanx would help! Canon boasts that the power hand, features an integrated laser sight targeting system will provide a completely new! No scope sniper, assault rifle without recoil or want? Mattock heavy assault rifle and sniper rifle is a hybrid. Anyone who has semi-automatic fire assault rifle skills, can be used in any class! Guess is a monster of a shotgun barrel triple plasma generates a plasma at the time of impact? When damage is greater than the charge. Or, far faster than a shotgun from the normal range

...Methinks someone at Xbox Japan got a bit too keen with copy and paste :mellow:

Looks like you've got your wish with the new appearance pack Ieldra -  tinyurl.com/5wa3ych; anyone here good at Japanese/knows a good (as in kind of accurate) online translator?

The new pack looks great, not just with Miri finally getting some adequate protection for combat rather than a leather/suede jumpsuit, which I agree with you should be left on the ship for...debriefings etc :devil:. Although what is Bioware's obsession with giving the majority of characters frankly stupid, unnecessary eyewear!?! IMO there are only three characters in the game who look like glasses/visors suit them - Shepard, Garrus and Thane.

I doubt we'll get the ability to have team members' outfits switch back to the shipboard versions when they come back to the Normandy as Shepard does. Other than that, yes, it seems we'll finally get something that looks as if it could protect for Miranda. I must say it appears that the long wait for the next Appearance pack will have been worth it.
:)

As for the visor, I'll reserve judgment until I can see it more clearly but I really don't mind. Except that I'd like to give Miranda a sniper rifle to go with it. I've always thought an assassin-type weapon would fit her best, even more so since I believe she's done assassinations for Cerberus. But even if not, I've been using such an eyepiece as a tactical HUD in my fanfic, so I think everyone should have one.

As for the translation:
:lol::lol::lol:

Surely you could just change the appearance on the squad status screen on Shepard's personal computer, it works for Garrus and Thane etc from the first appearance pack; now I think I only changed it before going on a mission and didn't test changing it again once back on the Normandy but I see no reason why that wouldn't work :)

the AP pack is just giving miranda re-skinned female N7 armour and an eye-piece. wow thanks moaners, when we could have had something completely different, but no everyone just "has to be wearing combat armour or my illusion is spoiled!"

This is why I am worried about the size of Miranda's part in 3, she is not the moaners fav and I worry they will do a VS on her.

JK, it doesn't look like N7 armor on that picture. Not enough bulk for that. To me, it appears as if she has exactly what people wanted: *light* armor that looks protective but still respects that she's not a soldier.

@lawp:
Actually, I'm fairly confident. We may not get as big a role as we wish for Miranda, but I very much doubt she'll be singled out for the "reduced to a cameo" treatment. According to XX55XX's old character poll, she's the second most popular female LI after Tali. Don't be mislead by the forum, there is a big bias towards the ME1 LIs here.

I hope you are right, Ash was always my favourite and she was sidelined I guess I am still rather sore over that. Alot of people dislike her on this forum yet I read somewhere she was the most popular LI in me1.

I hope for a large part for Miranda in the 3rd game, she is a facinating character and I know she will loyal to shep.

Woah really? I've always thought that Liara was the most popular love interest. Nothing against Tali but I'm really surprised. I'm fine with Miranda not getting a super big role, I'm actually satisfied with how Liara's character and relationship with Shep developed in LotSB. That was just one mission but it was great and it really defined some characters well. Even if she won't get a major role like taking over Ceberus, hopefully we get a mission similar to LotSB that will truly define her only it won't be a DLC but in the main game itself.

I don't have the data at hand, but at the time of the poll, Tali was the most popular by a *big* margin, and I'm 100% sure that hasn't changed. Her fans mostly don't hang out here anymore because her 10000-page-thread had been closed for too much OT. Miranda had a solid second position. Liara's position was quite a bit behind, but her position may have been changed by LotSB. There are also other indicators like the size of a character's primary fan group here on BSN, which point into the same direction and are more long-term than polls since people don't usually leave groups unless they've become disenchanted with the characters. Of course only Bioware knows, but it appears to me that Miranda is actually quite well-liked.

The main reason for differring perceptions here and now is that back 03/2010, there were a lot more people active on the ME2 forums. So what we got back then was more likely to be representative of ME2 players in general. What we have now is representative of fans hardcore enough to visit a game forum one year after the game's release.

Thanks! you seem very well informed about all these stuff going on in the forum. Now that I think about it, Tali's been one of the first characters but it's impressive how Miranda could be second when she's only appeared in the second game so far.

I'm new to this whole forum thing since I've only got the game last November as a gift. I didn't even know that there was a Mass Effect game years ago but I'm glad I found out about this game. It's nice to chat with other Miranda fans here, after all I'm still basking in the hype. I do hope some of the Bioware developers join in the fun in this thread too!

That's not the new armor, that's an old - and ugly - mod. Mesina, would you please delete it or mark it as modded to avoid leading people astray,

Very much this. "Come on, Miranda. You want this." Yeah, Commander Shepard, the master of emotional subtlely. Ugh.

What I'd like to see is this: if you choose the the lower response and delay the romance (I prefer to say delay instead of end), and Shepard hasn't romanced anyone else at the end of ME3, we'll get a really good romance scene at the end of ME3. Hey Bioware, if you put this in I'll buy an extra copy of ME3!

QFT. Those lines are absolutely perfect. If Bioware did that, my objections to the romance would largely evaporate and I could do it with a non-Complete Monster Shepard.

Well, I've been here since ME2 came out, and almost every day since then. It's nice to see new players still come in. Welcome. Traffic is usually intermittently low because most players have moved on, but at times like this when Miranda gets a new outfit it's a bit more lively.
