Wait, there was a downloadable texture pack for Mass Effect 1?Ieldra2 wrote...
I'd rather have a flame war about this, JeanLuc. That things don't look *nearly* as good as they could on a PC because yeah, it has to be the same as on the xbox, is a valid reason to hate the consoles' success. Even if that means the intervals in which I buy a new PC have doubled and I can play ME2 with a four-year-old graphics card.
For ME1 there was a downloadable texture pack. For ME2, nothing. I can't say how disappointed I was about that. Your work is very much appreciated!I'm already looking forward to the high-res DLC armor.
Why wasn't I informed?!

Armor for Miranda! At last. I never thought to see it. And with an eyepiece that looks good as well.
I don't really hope for a helmet, and unfortunately we can't see if the heels are mitigated, but no matter, a long-time wish has come true.Loyalty outfit on the ship, armor on missions. Perfect!
*cheers*
I only bought the first set of alternate appearances to fix Garrus's damn armor and give Jack a shirt pre-loyalty, but I like all three of these. What I'll probably do is put the squaddies in their no-kidding-armored outfits here in obviously hostile environments (Collector Ship, Tuchanka, Legion's loyalty, etc.) and in their lighter outfits in places like Ilium.

Indeed. I'll have to rebuild my screenshot collection, most stuff before the LM and everything taken on combat missions.Barhador wrote...
This opens up oppotunities for more awesome screenshots! I don't really like the non-loyal outfit so this appearance pack fits in nicely
Oh, crap.....I must recreate the scene where Shepard pulls her up. That's so much like work. Took me six reloads the last time.

Omega gets the armor, though. A little more worn intimidation is always good in places like that. Illium, yes, that's for the loyalty outfit.Sable Rhapsody wrote...

I would've liked Garrus armor fixed but I boycott AAP1 because IMO the repaired armor should have been in the game. I refuse to spend money on it. And the shades were horrible. I'm so relieved we've got a transparent eyepiece for Miranda.

I hope they continue with this line of thinking for ME3: something casual while on ship and something more practical while on mission. It works for Shepard in ME1 and ME2 and it worked for Ashley, Kaidan, and Liara as well in ME1.
Also since this release I've already seen a lot more warmer responses to Miranda, popularity is going up maybe? I know a lot of people's biggest problem was not seeing past the catsuit.
Finally, thing I'm MOST excited about is the return of DLC. Knew we wouldn't be getting any until PS3's ME2 came out and now that it has BW has started doing DLC again for all three platforms. Really, this is a win win all around.

This.
Can't say I'm too crazy about the visor though but still: hardsuit = sensibility.

No official DLC. I can't recall exactly, maybe it was part of a patch. I only recall I installed something including a texture upgrade before I went to Therum for the very first time, not long after ME1 for the PC came out.JeanLuc761 wrote...

It's more easy to take her seriously as the highly capable operative she is now that she's dressed appropriately. The other outfits and camera angles give the mistaken impression that her only value is fanservice.

Indeed I can't wait till next Tuesday...
I was also hoping that she would get a helmet like Shepard has but at least we got armor for her. I hope they don't go with the breather masks for ME3.
and Armored heels?...Now theres something I'd have to see!

Why should it? As opposed to ME1, it appears there's no automatic final save after the CB mission they'll use for an import in ME2. They'll import regular saved games instead. So play the game with your modded armor, then switch to one of the regular ones and make a new save.aeetos21 wrote...
Actually I still like the modded Cerberus Assault Armor I've seen screenshots of her wearing - that alt pack visor bugs me, reminds of Revan's kotor's interface visoer (shudders). My only concern is if I try and throw that cerberus assault armor skin on her it will somehow screw up the save game import from ME2 to ME3.
Also, texmod mods won't screw up anything, since the game doesn't know them. If you use a texmod mod, internally the game has the outfit "under" the mod flagged, the one you used before installing the mod.

I know, I know, but CP's little speech about "modding at your own risk" bugged me - I'm know I'm paranoid.
There is always a risk of messing up your game when you mod, especially for ME which has no modding system like DA.
But I think textures, graphical changes, etc. should be relatively safe. Messing around with things like romance flags and plot variables would be more likely to screw you over come ME3.

They won't, I can (almost) guarantee it. The Xbox 360 isn't powerful enough to run high resolution textures like that, and I doubt Bioware will give the PC "special treatment."Yannkee wrote...
Seriously, if Bioware doesn't enhanced the quality of the textures in ME3 ... <_<
Imagine THAT flame-war.
I wish they would. I have a 5 year old PC w/ a 3 year old GPU and run ME2 at 1920x1200 maxed out on everything and made all of the .ini changes here: http://social.biowar...-2060374-1.html
to squeeze every tiny bit of improved graphics out of the game possible.
It's really frustrating being an avid PC gamer my whole life to now suddenly (relatively) have any new video games graphics purposely limited because due to business sense game developers aren't willing to develop PC only titles and exclude the console market.
I've been putting off upgrading my box, but honestly if I can still run ME2, a 2010 title at 100% everything on my 5 year old box, it's basically pointless to upgrade. Games have hit the graphics barrier due to the five year old hardware on consoles.
I want the next generation of consoles to get here already so that we can start getting some better graphics. I saw a screenshot of ME 3 and it just made me sad (looked identical to ME2 graphics wise).

No suprise there; they are using the same engine (Unreal 3 engine) as before.

It was an in-game screenshot. As I said, looked basically identical to ME2.
As you might know (but maybe not) - the PS3 version of ME2 uses the same engine that ME3 is being released in. Source: http://gamerant.com/...ate-dyce-57442/
So expecting significantly better graphics is a fantasy.
@g54: re: Unreal 3 engine. That's kind of my point about current console hardware (~5 years old) holding back gaming. ME1 used Unreal 3 engine back in 2007. Gears of War (2006) also uses the Unreal 3 engine.
And here we are... 5 years later... Still using the Unreal 3 engine w/ pretty much the same graphics. Pretty sad really.
So ME3 (~late 2011 release) using the same engine as games released in 2006 -> this supports exactly what I was saying.
If we go back in time and compare leading video game titles that are 5 years apart (or hell even 2 years apart) the difference is stunning. Compare: Quake (1996) to Quake II (1997). HUGE difference.
Compare Call of Duty (2003) to Call of Duty 2 (2005). Huge difference. For a 5 year comparison, compare Call of Duty (2003) to Call of Duty: World at War (2008). Night and day.
But it seems like those days are gone, and we are now brick walled graphically until console makers release new consoles... which sadly won't probably be for at least 2-3 more years, or possibly longer.
I miss the days of rapidly improving graphics back when PC gaming (and new PC technology) drove the gaming market. No longer.

Do you have one like that for Tali, Ash and Garrus, wanted to do a mag cover of them aswell (different mags titles) but those fan forums don't seem to have the someone as dedicated as you in the 3D rendering department.
