Miranda keeping her competence and independence is something of an obsession for me. Please no Damsel in Distress situations. I want the same professionally capable operative I fell for. Not to discount her emotion regarding Shep and Oriana, but I've never had to beg creators to make a female character more emotional. She isn't the white picket fence type.

Although, as Shepard tells Grunt, she doesn't plan on living like this forever. What do you imagine Miranda wants to do "someday"? She obviously wants kids at some point (or she wouldn't have talked to a doctor about it) and I imagine Shepard could convince her to adopt some.

Or has she never let herself think that far ahead (for fear of becoming distracted and thus never getting there, per the cliche)?

I agree that she want(ed) a child but I also cant see her ever giving up her work. If she did manage to acquire a child, I can see her shifting away from being an operative to being a scientist. I don't see her ever stopping her work entirely. She's too driven for that. But I don't think she really allows herself to think about that, due to an almost pathological inability to believe she deserves to be happy.

Interesting that you mention that - this fanfic brings that up as well and implies it's what ended her relationship with Jacob.

I agree, even once she was physically past being an operative, she'd keep her mind active to the end.

stupid visors looks as ridiculous as ever - would it have been so hard to make the toggleable (although grunt's look cool, but then they don't obscure his whole face)? :?

I guess because of the way costumes work for squadmates they couldn't make it toggleable. I think thats one thing that everyone whats back and I think they'll include it into ME3.

I like Miranda's visor, though I very much agree it should be toggleable - I can only hope we can see her eyes as well as it seems. The decision to make non-segmented character models was one of the worst made for ME2.

I think it would be cool for squad members to handle their own gear or armour if given the option. I mean would it not be awsome if each character had a set of casual clothing and armour that they would choose from. When you go see them, the clothing they where could reflect their attitude towrds you or their mood in the conversation to come. With their armour they could choose the best one that suites their abilities, etc.

But I guess that type of RPG is still on the next horizon.

I don't think she'd ever give up work completely either. But her life will be long. I can imagine she might take an extended break.
As for children - it's pretty much consensus here that her infertility should be reversible with late 22nd century medical technology. Even if you don't consider the contradictions in the medical report, for someone who lead the Lazarus project it shouldn't be that hard. Also, there is the possibility she'd create biological children the same way she was made - and treat them better than her father treated her.

I saw lots of drawings here and thought I'd have a go myself.  I taught myself by just experimenting and I'm still learning. Had trouble with the armour and guns, not really sure about how to get them looknig good. Thought I'd try Miranda on her own next , so any constructive critisism or technique advice would be handy.

The thing is with the Lazarus project she had virtually unlimited resources. She will not have that on her own.

She also had a team, her own lab and many other things the game doesn't bother to specifiy.

Yes, but the scope of the problem is also quite a lot smaller. Also I can't imagine she left the data with all the collected knowledge back on the station. I see the med-tech to reverse her infertility as a simple offshoot of Lazarus rather than a new project. BTW I don't want to see it in the game, which should be about the main plot and not about characters' personal problems again. I want to see it hinted at in the epilogue.
The same, btw, with the scenario favored by jtav where she creates the genomes of her biological children the same way hers was made.

Hm...I don't agree personally.

And yeah I wouldn't wan to see it in game either...heck I only want it hinted in the epilogue if she mentioned that she was considering it to Shepard.

I much prefer her making her children in a similar way that she was made.

Me too. It means she's finally accepted who and what she is. It's absolutely perfect. Do you think she'd make a good single parent?

Hard to say. Naturally, she'd be demanding and would want her children to excel. But she might also be tempted to overcompensate for her own upbringing and spoil them. She'd also hire help to be able to keep working, possibly more in some science job as long as children need her, switching back to the spy stuff when they're grown. She has a long life...
Mainly, as I said I don't want to think about scenarios with children in any kind of detail. Hint at it in the epilogue and leave the rest to fanfic.

I think she'd probably alternate between spoiling them and being demanding, desperately trying to get the balance right. I can see her buying a bunch of parenting books because these children are precious to her and she doesn't want to screw this up. She'll spend as much time with them as work permits, but there will probably be missed birthdays and the like. Help is meticulously screened. She'd probably worry she was screwing the kids up, but they'd turn out mostly okay. She wouldn't hesitate to go Mama Bear on anyone who hurt her kids. Shepardand Jacob, are honorary aunt and uncle and spoil the kids.

I'm finding myself making peace with Miranda's white outfit because we now have an alternative to use on combat missions. I still think a sexy outfit for Miranda should be more classy than this, though, and not look like plastic or latex. That's my main problem with it: not that it looks sexy, but that it looks cheap.

I still think it looks cheap, which makes it pretty far from sexy for me. The black is more elegant. I think the armor has them both beat because there's an element of power there now--this woman is both feminine and deadly, a sleek, powerful, and graceful killer.

LOL and I can already see her screening any of their friends and embarassing the hell out of them.

I don't know if you guys saw this, but I found a mod that has Miranda wearing her black leather outfit during the romance scene on DA:

Just tested it. Works fine. Very nice. Thanks for the link.

Does anyone else think we should now have a mod section in the OP?

I do agree, but I don't find the armor fitting for her on board the SR2, except when going through the Omega 4 relay. I'll try out how she'll look, but Miranda sitting at her desk in armor, that's just wrong. JeanLuc's mod gives the fabric of the white outfit a 3D effect that makes it look less like plastic, so she'll stay in that on the SR2 until her LM.

Four days to the AAP2. **taps foot impatiently**

@snfonseka:
These pictures are strange. How did you make them?

Yep. I was thinking the same thing!
