Nice picture, Dragonsword, but you might want to convert your images to .jpg before uploading them. This one takes about 15 seconds to load.

IrfanView can convert anything in about anything. It's freeware. I used it to convert my screenshots before I got the registered version of Fraps.

There is no´"trial version". You're free to use the unregistered version for as long as you like, but it can't make videos and can't make jpg screenshots.

Well actually you CAN make videos, but they're limited to 30 seconds and has a watermark on the top.

also if you have photoshop just batch convert any/all automatically - took me about 5 minutes at a time and that was for gigabytes of BMPs.

I've been thinking about something. One of the things that first drew me to Miranda was that mixture of arrogance and self-loathing. She's extremely gifted and knows it, but she also has to justify her existence. If she doesn't use her gifts for humanity, then why is she here? Why was she allowed to live when her sisters were discarded? She doesn't seem to comprehend that she has any intrinsic worth. That's what I want for her in ME3: for her to excel because she can not because she feels she has no meaning otherwise. She has value far beyond what she can offer Shep.

There are several reasons I can imagine why she would have been spared. But...though I don't agree with the level of self-loathing you usually ascribe to her and I would've put the same thing in very different words, yes, that's what I also want to see.

@Dragonsword:
There are two DLCs for ME1, but only "Bring Down The Sky" is worth paying for. I have no idea if you can still get it.

Psh that's not a problem. All you need to do is to just convert the bmp file into a jpeg in Photoshop.

Agreed. I want her to be happy/at peace with herself. I see her character as is as tragic. She has all of these gifts and talents, and that very well could be as much, if not more, of a burden than a blessing.

And could you imagine what a happy Miranda could do? I can see her, not manic, but filled with energy and capable of almost anything. She'd never be the life of the party but I could see her discovering a newfound passion for her work and that being infectious.

My fear is the opposite: her work was a crutch and she never really believed in Cerberus, but merely latched on to a group that gave her approval.

I can see why you think that, considering the situation with her father, and I'm inclined to agree with you on the point that her work with Cerberus could have been a crutch. I just don't think she would have put so much of herself into something she doesn't really believe in, though. Miranda strikes me as too pragmatic to let her emotions dictate what she does. That is completely possible though. Actually, to me it seems likely the case.

Ok, idk why but the browser on my phone won't load the edit page. Anywho, I meant to say, the more I think about it, the more it seems like Miranda was using her work and Cerberus as crutches, so to speak.

I don't think it's a crutch, except at my most cynical. But sometimes I think Bioware will go that route and she'll just be revealed as a cleaned up Jack: underneath the shell is someone who just wants to be loved. She exchanges one cult of personality for another. I'd HATE that.

Yeah, that has been done a few times too many IMO. I wouldn't be very pleased if that happens either. She should remain the strong, confident woman she is. Bioware has to realize thats why people who appreciate the character appreciate her. She isn't a girl that needs rescued; more than likely, she'd be doing the rescuing.

I'm starting to feel the fanfic urge coming on lol. I'll probably get to about a page and delete it though. Nothing I write ever seems to capture what I want it to.

Yes, there's almost no limit to what she could achieve after overcoming her self-esteem problems. I also think that working for the "advancement of humanity", whatever that may mean to her (we already know it's different from what TIM has in mind) is an integral part of her character. IMO she comes to doubt TIM exactly in that she doesn't think he has the best for humanity in mind any more.

BTW, imagine what Miranda-at-peace-with-herself and Shepard could do *together*? Wether in a romance, as close friends or as Heterosexual Life Partners, where they go, people better move out of the way

I think its obvious TIM is making a power play, and I think Miranda realizes that cerberus on the whole is potentially toxic for humanity's relationships with the other races. Why it has taken her so long to realize this, I don't know, but I'm glad she did. Cerberus' goals aren't humanity's best interests, at least not any more.

Well... she's clearly not the best judge of character - though I don't suppose how anyone could be if they have only met somebody a few times but still put so much faith in that person. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Still, in the end she made the right call (Shepard over TIM) so I can't fault her too much on that.

Taken just before the engine room scene. Cropped it and then added a filter over it in photoshop. I liked Miranda's expression, very playful. It was on my screensaver in this tone so I decided to upload up here, looks nice I think.

Edit: @xXN7Xx
That's a really nice portrait man. Someday I hope to maybe take a drawing or sketching class or something so I can make some fanart of my own character. Very nice sketch, thank you for sharing.
