I just found out that Engineered was recommended at TVTropes. I feel very pleased with myself right now. Heh, I write so much and the story where Miranda has no free will about falling for Shepard is the one that gets noticed.

Yes, things are slowing down, but that's largely due to a lack of new material and Dragon Age 2.

Let's hope that Arrival will have some Miranda-related material, then. It's probably too much to hope that new ME2 players who don't already know everything about Miranda will bring questions - or even things we might have not talked about - into this thread.

Interesting, though. The DA2 character are really well written and I like them all, but none of them grab my attention as much as Miranda Lawson. She remains my favorite NPC over all Bioware games. Hmm....possibly over all game NPCs I've ever encountered in 25 years.

@jtav:
It is a unique take on her situation, so I'm not surprised it gets noticed. Where did they mention it?

The recs page, Ieldra. Scroll down to General Fic.

And Anders, Merrill, and Isabela seem to have run off with my brain the same way Miranda once did, wuth the added bonus that I like Hawke.

Yes. Morrigan and Miranda are the best from any game.... ever. After them, Silk Fox/Princess Sun Lian.

Hmm...a lack of pictures. Can't say I have anything new, but this old one is one of my favorites in spite of the boring background.

There might be some new ones this time next week.... :)

Out of the blue, but what the hell. Am going through another playthrough and I can't help but be baffled at Miranda's Pro-Cerberus speech after her Loyalty Mission and, most importantly, HORIZON.

Miranda's been assigned to the Normandy to keep tabs on Shep. She reads Shep's mail. It only follows she eavesdrops on every conversation with TIM. I get that Miranda has to play the devil's advocate during the game, but Shep accused TIM of using a colony as bait and TIM hardly denied it. The timing is just ridiculous on this one.

Now, I get that quite a few players wouldn't get kicks out of Shep freaking out over that many people dying in his/her name. Same goes for Miranda having some sort of 'redemption' arc that doesn't have to do with Shep being awesome and/or hot. Miranda would be the last to acknowledge her 'surrogate father' being a murderous SOB, but damn, a whole colony deemed expendable for the sake of tactics is kinda heavy.

Somewhat of a missed opportunity to turn this into a defining bonding moment, really. Was it too hard to write in a short cut-scene with the two of them sharing a drink and agreeing to stop being semi-jerks to one another?

Yeah, I always take Miranda on Jack's loyalty mission and vice versa. I wish they'd added a couple of lines between them there, similar to Noveria in ME1 if you take Liara along, rather than streamlining it into their conflict scene, where it seems less in-context. Little things like that keep you coming back for replays.

Ditto on taking Miranda on Jack's LM, it has so much potential for conflict, and it makes the post-LM fight more poignant.  Interestingly, I was unable to defuse the situation between the two of them in my last pt, but wound up getting a very cool scene with Miranda afterward where I explained why I sided with Jack.  Somehow seems better than just saying "You can both kill each other later!"

I *never* take Miranda on Jack's loyalty mission.

On one hand, it could and *should* set Jack off.
On the other, trying to shove down a 'revelation' down Miranda's throat hardly seems like a sensible tactic.

I get the 'drama' angle, but everything seems to point at every incarnation of Shepard *hating* drama.

Me personally I always take Miranda on every mission not just tactically but because I like the whole package of the character (not just visually but the story, the dialogue etc). Definitely my favourite game character for being such a well thought threw character.

I hope Bioware keep it up with the brilliantly written characters they are the best at it by far out of all the game developers as well as the stories

Also hoping Miranda will be a squad player in ME3 and hope for possible happy ending with shepherd and Miranda :)

I don't see why Miranda wouldn't be part of the squad in ME3.
