If Miri had the option to wear armor. I hope the armor doesn't have a visor. I want to see Miri's BEAUTIFUL Eyes.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

That's really nice. :)
I hope this will not just be invisible customization that doesn't affect characters' looks. And I'm not against that visor from the AAP2 armor. It looks good in many situations. It must only be removable without removing the rest of the armor. Or toggleable. Or both.

^This. It would be like putting Shep in heavy armor for missions in ME2 (sometimes I do, sometimes I don't), then him being forced to wear that armor on the Normandy. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I hope it is not to the levels of ME1 levels of customisation that was too generic which I doubt they will do that one.

I have a feeling it will be very similar to the DA2 system where you can purchase items that improves the characters combat capabilities and some decisions you make effect the outfit the outfit the character wears.

No, you always do because you can't have Shepard wear anything other than heavy armor when he's not on the Normandy. Even if all you want to do is go meet the Council, Shepard brings the freaking Cain with him.
Yeah, because you never know when you migth need to detonate a mini-Nuke, do you?

Soooo...pretty much what Garrus and Grunt do?

And by decisions you mean "Romance". Because that's the only way to customize companion armor in DA2.

Jack's romance will go down in history as the first time ever a man seduced a woman so she would put on some clothes.

So true.
Having said that, I doubt they'll do that again. I'm looking forward to Miranda's new appearance. They didn't say anything about it, but I'm convinced Miranda get's a little redesign as well.

But if Miri does get a redesign, what will it be? IMO it shouldn't be anything incredibly dramatic.Posted Image

Her face will stay mostly the same, possibly with some minor adjustments to make her fall into the Uncanny Valley less often. Her general body shape will also stay the same. She might get improved hair graphics - Bioware said they can now do hair better - but I think there might be some changes in her outfit(s), since we are promised new options for team member armor customization.

I think we might get a split between civilian and on-mission outfits. Likely she'll have either a new civilian outfit or a reworked model of the old one(s). No idea on the on-mission outfits, but given the response to AAP2 I think we'll get an armor option from the start.

if they've used the new UE3.5 updates (a la ashley) then hair should look markedly better (and vegetation on planets, too for that matter), so i can see miranda's model taking good advantage of that.

I haven't really weighed in on this yet so I just want to through my support behind Miranda being a full time squad mate. I hope we hear something about her role in ME3 soon.

WARNING- EXTREME BIAS AHEAD: If they want to redesign what Miri looks like, just make her look even more like Yvonne. That was pretty much what they were going for, but they didn't quite get close enough. She needs her nose tweaked a bit and maybe her jawline as well.

Think she looks very much like Yvonne already. If they can tweak her a tiny bit so she looks more so great. Don't want anything major done as i want the character i adored from ME2 back.

Anybody got any news on whether Miranda is a squad member in ME3 yet? My hopes are high, but you never know, it will teeter my decision on whether I go for the full out wacky collectors edition or settle for the standard game lol

I'd like her to be back in armor that looks like it could actually take a few shots. Civilian outfits should be flattering but not scream "I'm Ms. Fanservice" from 50 miles away. I'd also like a subtle redesign of her face so that it's no longer perfectly symmetrical and the skin looks more realistic.

Since I'm the thread pessimist, I want to change gears and talk about what I do want to see for a minute. I'd like her to be leading some sort of insurgency against Cerberus. She is instrumental in helping you take down Cerberus and is a temporary squad member for that mission. She picks up the remnants of the organization and vows to help you against the Reapers, though she doesn't come back with you to the Normandy. She is, however, available as a squad made for the last mission/battle (along with everyone else who has ever been on your squad).

Alternatively, she's decided that the best way of ensuring Oriana's safety is to eliminate her father (who was safely off world during the Reaper invasion). We finally get to put a bullet in Mr. Lawson's skull. Miranda finds herself heir to a vast fortune and the resources of a very large conglomerate. Again, she vows to put that to use fighting the Reapers. We also see the technology used to create her. The last shot is Miranda staring at it thoughtfully and a little sadly. "Maybe someday... but I have to concentrate on other things right now." End mission.

I agree with the point about the skin but I think the symmetry was part of her genetically altered character base. She says she's perfect, so it would make sense even for her body and features to be perfectly symmetrical.

Sorry if i'm covering old ground or anything, just my two cents lol

The problem is that human faces aren't symmetrical. If they were going for an eerie look, that's good. If not, that needs to change.

Isn't it just the texture which is perfectly symmetrical that is the problem? I'm no 3D modeler, but it seems to me that any 3D sculpture of a human face is going to be pretty much symmetrical simply for the time-saving factor. Set a few points on this side and those points are mirrored on that side. Right?

My hatred of the possiblility of Miranda being a temp squaddie is summed up best my the BTVS quote

"I’m your faithful dog. You bring me scraps"

As for personal missions. I'd be happier with something dealing with Cerberus. Maybe something greyer than simply taking them down. Maybe the option to rescue/redeem the illusive man as well as the simple eliminate him.

As for her real father i don't really want a LOTSB thing where you fight through waves of mercs and kill the boss, placing Miranda on the throne. Sounds very much like Liara replacing the Shadow Broker. Also i don't believe her father is worth wasting a bullet on or taking up a moment more of Miranda's time.

Probably. Jack looks fine, for instance.

And it's not scraps if she ends up significant on a galactic scale. That's what I care about. I don't want her to be Shepard's lackey.

I don't think they should tweak her either. Just think that's what they should do if they feel they MUST tweak her. I'd prefer they didn't though.

TIMmy would have some serious 'splainin to do as to why I should spare him if that scenario came up. I'm not saying I'd kill him no matter what, but he'd really have to convince me to let him live. Though if Miri says to kill him, I'd do it as she has more experience with him than I do.

The point I realised she fell into the uncanny valley was when someone else mentioned it, it kind of niggled at me for a bit, but hey, I think Ashley falls more into that trap.
