Mordin as a temporary squadmate would be good news, more than a cameo, and it would make me still believe that Miranda can return as a permanent squadmate, considering her LI status.

Yes, that's one less character who can take permanent squadmate status away from Miranda.

Mordin is a popular key character in ME2. If Bioware decides to make him a cameo, I think it's hopeless to believe in a return of Miranda as a permanent squadmate.The difference between the two characters is that Miranda is a love interest, so I still believe that all ME2 characters will have a LotSB style mission, important for the main plot, and if you romanced them you'll have the opportunity to recruit them definitely.

i wouldnt be overly worried.

Mordins character responds better to being a cameo style temp squadie. he's not a LI and it makes sense story-wise for him to be focusing on scientific work rather than following shepard around.

Miranda however is a LI, a popular squadmate, celebrity voiced and faced, and story-wise makes ALOT of sense to be working with shepard the entire time. she's familiar with reapers, she was shepards 2nd in command, she has detailed knowledge about cerberus who's working against you. ect.

she seems like a logical choice for a fulltime squadmate.

i agree I think every love interest will be safe for being full squad members because simply they do not want to priorities other love interests over others because it would insult fans of such characters.

It is the non LI's you have be concerned about whether they will be full or not which I will be surprised if they are due to Casey Hudson wanting to reduce the squad size which not having the LI's as full squad members would reduce the levels by a third.

and i do think miranda is probably the most iconic character of the bunch considering how prominent she is in the advertising and she is the most famous of the voicing and appearance wise.

I am right so far my theory is correct all the confirmed (apart from that James Vega) are LI's

and so far the Non-LI's have been pretty much announced that they will be appearing but not as full squad members. (Mordin and Wrex)

I would safely bet on my car on it which oddly enough I call my call miranda due it being beautiful (in my opinion) and being white with black side stripes and a black roof. (but won't bet my car im not drunk enough to do such a thing lol)

(I know i am weird lol)

I wouldn't say Miss Strahovski is the most famous of the voice actors - that may well be Martin Sheen. Still, as I've said elsewhere, they've put an imperial crapton of work & resources into Miranda and it wouldn't make sense (business or otherwise) to discard her.

Ah....I'm of two minds about that as well. On one side I really want that confirmation we'll have more than one or two missions with her, on the other side I don't want to be spolled about when we will meet her again in the game.

LOL. This topic is almost all we're talking about. They really should give us a spoiler-free comment like "It may depend on your choices, but yes, it is possible that you will have Miranda with you for the greater part of the game", so that we can talk about something else again. I would still wonder, however, if it would also be possible that we can let her go to something really important within the main plot and meet her again for the final mission.

What jtav said. Miranda is willing to take risks and spend other's lives for a greater goal, but she's also results-oriented and wouldn't support a procedure with such a low chance of success. To reduce that random factor, she'd expose stem cells to eezo in a row of experiments to see which genetic factors are responsible for the manifestation of biotic abilities and resistance to eezo-induced cancer.

The problem is that I'm not sure all LI will be treated fairly in ME3.
I would like to believe that Bioware doesn't prioritize some LI over others, but :

Tali & Garrus : squadmate in ME1, ME2 and ME3 
Liara : squadmate in ME1, ME2 LotSB, and ME3 
Ash/Kaidan : squadmate in ME1 and ME3, cameo in ME2
Other LI : squadmate in ME2 and none of them confirmed as squadmate in ME3 right now.

I would have expected them all to feature, when I first saw the litho in lower res I actually did a head count to check there were no members missing...

actually i was going to point that very thing out given a lot of the discussion here lately, it's pretty easy to tell who the artist favours (though they all have nice placement/poses). thankfully i managed to get one despite the usual crush/server meltdown...

They are DLC addins that not everyone has

They may be in the centre, but Miranda and Jacob are most defined. They're the only ones you see clearly, the others are all overlayed by the background showing through. Which makes sense, since Miranda and Jacob are the two original team members in ME2. It doesn't signify anything else.

Didn't try to get this one though. I have no place to hang it where it wouldn't be breaking the style.
