Lack of Miranda news is still "disconcerting"... however count me as excited about ME3. The Sur'Kesh (Salarian homeworld) mission sounds like it will be lots of fun.

Also E3 is around the corner. Expecting Miranda news soon.

Anybody else done the Fenris romance? I just finished it, and the final scene is essentially the same as Miranda's promise scene, with him asking you to promise you won't die. Except you can extract the same promise in return. You don't have to show anxiety, but you have the option. That's what I wanted for Miranda. What I still want. The sense that she's as important to Shepard as he is to her. Come on ME team. If DA2 can get this right, so can you.

Never got around to it. I became disenchanted with DA2 (combat, extreme railroading) before I got the chance. But I agree there needs to be more mutuality in Shepard's romances, most notably with Miranda's. I'm somewhat optimistic this will be handled better in ME3.


@all:
I should also mention that I don't have a lot of hope for significant information about Miranda at E3. Even if we see some footage with her - which is, of course, very desirable - it won't tell us much about her role in the plot and her team member status.

There remains the possibility she'll be one of the team members revealed, but that won't tell me whether she'll be a character I continue to like. And whether the payoff will be worth enduring everything that drives me absolutely bonkers about the romance. I can work around a cameo. I cannot work around the character being broken.

do you think something is broken about Miranda's characterisation at the moment or is it something you fear will happen in ME3?  Does it relate to equality issues with Shepard or making her a less layered/deep character

Both. There are things that have been done that...worry me. You have her sudden Paragonization at the CB, which is not really hinted at unless you take her certain places and choose specific dialogue options. Liara's "you have no idea how much you've changed her" and the fact that her flaw is infertility. Those things can be handled well, but can also be handled badly. If I wanted a standard heroine with a traditional happy end, I can find them. Morally ambiguous, competent action girls are harder to find. As of now, I can interpret her that way, and I'd prefer to be able to continue to do so. That's her draw for me. Not her looks or Strahovski.

For now, I just want a confirmation that she's a permanent squadmate and that we can continue her romance (also, a confirmation that Yvonne is still her VA would be great, even if I'm confident that she still is).

But I doubt we'll have some news about Miranda, if Casey didn't want to talk about the character because it is too spoilerish then I don't think it will change at E3.

The main focus of the E3 demo should be the gameplay.
And I also fear that they will continue to pamper the ME1 characters fans.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't want to raise my expectations too high.

personally i think the gameplay videos will be the focus of e3, and they'll showcase already-announced characters, however there will most likely be a new, proper trailer, and here is where we may well see miranda at last.

you are most probably correct about a new trailer but I hope your right on them showing miranda in the trailer.

I would not be suprised if they say something about her either through interviews or seen through the demos
I think there are a lot of people who want to know what their favorite ME2 squadmate is doing in ME3

Isabela also asks Hawke to promise not to die...
I think alot of people would do the same right before a suicide mission...

I think that the SR will undergo a heavy redesign and the old rooms won't be recognizeable as such any more. But if theya are, Miranda's office won't be changed in its function, it will remain the XO's office. It remains to be seen if someone else will usurp it.

Well at least I'm not the only one who feels this way.
As to what it could be turned into...I really don't know maybe an area that the VS hangs out in?
Maybe they use that space to make the kitchen area larger?

Do the Alliance allow XO's to have their own rooms?  That's something I'm not sure about...

According to Alliance regulamentations, the XO must stand near the Galaxy map at all times.

Well, for me it would be Kaidan. It's not that bad, he's the only one I can tolerate for this role.But I expect him to leave the place as soon as Miranda come back on the Normandy.

edit : the other solution is that she goes in the captain quarter, but I don't think this would be very professional. And my Shepard wouldn't be very focus on his job

Since the Normandy is Alliance once more, it makes more sense for the VS to be XO and take those quarters. I'd put Miranda in the lab or the medbay if she's part of the crew. If we have party banter this time around, I'd even give her and the VS a party banter about them taking what used to be hers.
