If given the option, my Shepard will choose to sleep in Miranda's former quarters. Kaidan can have the captain's quarters for all I care.

That'd make it worth romancing Ashley and then Miranda just so Miss Lawson would have a good answer.

I think that the SR will undergo a heavy redesign and the old rooms won't be recognizeable as such any more. But if they are, Miranda's office won't be changed in its function, it will remain the XO's office. It remains to be seen if someone else will usurp it.

Do the Alliance allow XO's to have their own rooms?  That's something I'm not sure about...

If that's the case, the VS will never hear the end of it. As if it wasn't bad enough that Miranda isn't with me anymore, now her office gets usurped. I will not be happy with him or her, and vice versa I guess.

It could be good dramatically. If it were me, I'd Miranda's character arc for ME3 as her figuring out what she wants now that she's not Cerberus. She doesn't really belong on the ship anymore, as symbolized by the fact that she no longer has her office. She's with Shepard because at least it's doing something to fight the Reapers.

but I am doing a playthrough where I only romanced with Miranda (just a different move considering I cannot stand ashley williams now and do not like Liara (too much poetry and too much about sex not about other things)

I know some folks here are not happy with the proposed romance conflict in ME3 for various reasons (demeaning the LI's, giving Shep an ego stroke etc) but I will say I would be interested in how Miranda's conflicts would play out with Ashley and Liara and hopefully how different they would be

Ashley - the Cereberus/Alliance conflict.  Potentially some aggressive and sharp rebukes

Liara -  the history between Liara and Miranda in recovering Shepard.  Liara giving Shepard up to Cereberus in hope they could save him and then Miranda taking Shepard from her.  Adds a potential layer of deeper betrayal to the emotions of Liara given both women worked with eachother and to help Shepard


I know some people don't care for this issue but it does have the potential for interesting and emotional writing



Or Shepard could just stand there arms folded,  grinning while both Miranda and Ashley/Liara fight it out in a battle ring semi-clothed with the classic Star Trek fight music playing

I think that maybe an understatement I am expecting ashley to be very argumentative and aggressive about me picking miranda over ashley.

I expect miranda will win the arguments considering she is more intelligent than ashley

For those that will have romance 'conflicts' in ME3 I hope it is not 'one size fits all' with near identical dialogue for all scenarios.  Ashley v Miranda should have different tones to Liara v Miranda.  Likewise for say Tali v Ashley or Kaidan v Garrus. There are different dynamics/relationships and backgrounds to work with here



Mind you I'd love to be a fly on the wall for Jack v Ashley

I don't care who is the XO in the Normandy in ME3. I'd be glad if Miranda will be in the Normandy. Don't care in which role. (Hell, I'll be fine if she stay in the Normandy and be a squadmate only in certain missions related to Cerberus.)

I think they will have it that they react differently to one another.

I can imagine the scene with Liara in Liar of the shadowbroker was a tester as well for how your ex reacts to you dating someone else.

You are correct though there will be more netural respect for one another with some characters and no real respect with others.

I do agree Jack will be the one to watch out for if you romanced with her (she may even react during ME3 if you didnt go out with her but liked you).

and I do think Liara will be the most unbothered about the whole thing.

I agree (I didn't said in my post but I thought it was implicit:P) I don't necessarily need her as a squad member if she has the same amount of dialogue of the other squad members and a full romance progression. I'd prefer this solution because from the last news (smaller teams, already 4-5 squad members confirmed and new LI which will problably be squadmates) I have doubts that she'll be a perm squadmate. And I'll be disappointed if she'll be a simple temporary squadmate. I think that Bioware has to give at every LI the same treatment.

If Miranda is to be Normandy, then I'd prefer if she is a permanent squadmate. I doubt she can gain much influence on the Galactic stage from the Normandy so, we migth as well hear her opinion about the places we visit and the events of the game.
For example, she has shown an appreciation for Asari architecture so, I would love to take her to Thessia.

Also, I couldn't agree more with Mr.Plow regarding the romance conflicts.

It hasn't. We're just speculating that the Virmire Survivor will be the new XO now that Shepard is back with the Alliance.

Ahh, well I hope that the Virmire survivor will be the new XO. It doesn't really make any sence if Miranda is still the XO now that Shepards went back to the Alliance.
