Exactly. The crew of the new Normandy isn't going to view her as legitimate authority. She is quite simply, not fit for the role of XO as long as the Normandy's Alliance.

Ashley as XO ?
*facepalm*

I'm glad I will never see that happen in my games.

When has it been confirmed that Ashley is the XO?

It hasn't. We're just speculating that the Virmire Survivor will be the new XO now that Shepard is back with the Alliance.Image IPBImage IPB

Ahh, well I hope that the Virmire survivor will be the new XO. It doesn't really make any sence if Miranda is still the XO now that Shepards went back to the Alliance. Image IPB

Only Kaidan make sense as an XO, not Ashley.

And Miranda is a far more competent XO than any of the other characters.
Now if the Alliance doesn't agree with my Shepard, he will give them the finger.

Look at it this way Miranda did a decent job of being XO in ME2. Now pass it along to someone else. Image IPB
I don't really care who is XO in ME3, as long as Miranda gets a decent bit of screen time.

Good for you then. In my game, Miranda will always be, albeit unnoficially, my second in command and I'll take every opportunity I can to remind the usurper of that.

Screw the alliance lol. Their hatred for cerberus has blinded them. They would be too stupid to even realize that Miri told TIM off AND QUIT cerberus.

Miri will ALWAYS be MY XO AND LI! Image IPB

EDIT: Oh and woop-d-doo for joining the Alliance again!

What if you don't get the choice?

Hudson confirmed we can roleplay against the Alliance. I can only hope that includes the new crew and the VS.

Like I said, the Alliance is too stupid to wake up and smell the coffee.

That's awesome news! I wonder if Miranda will join the Alliance if she quited Cerberus at the end.

It's not a matter of competence. Joe Random ensign isn't going to listen to her because she was the enemy up until a few months ago and her good deeds are very private. The squad likely would listen to her because most of them have worked with her before. It's the ship as a whole that's problematic.

Too many bureaucracies, policies, protocol. Not enough work done.
Miranda and Shepard need to create their own interplanetary organization.

Too much hatred may have corrupted the alliance. Even if I were to vouch for Miri, would they still hesitate to listen?

Good.
My Shepard has nothing against the Alliance, but if they show no respect for the ME2 team and the ex Cerberus crew (especially Miranda), then I won't hesitate to turn against them.

You may not have the choice, unfortunately. In terms of the whole story, I - as the player - could live with it temporarily if Miranda gets a really big role. But as my Shepard, he won't be so forgiving. That office is Miranda's in his eyes and anyone else who has it is just The Usurper.

An *interstellar* org if anything. That would an interesting post-Reapers scenario. And your choices throughout the games influence which kind of organisation it is.

As for Allliance vs. Cerberus, I'm not really enthusiastic about both. Cerberus crosses lines too easily, and the Alliance is bogged down with politics so much that they'll put Shepard on trial to appease the Batarians. Well, at least it's better than to extradite him to them. I guess we'll never be free of politicians' dishonesty, and it's better than a dictatorship anyway, but all that meandering about means that something like Cerberus is also needed. I wonder if we'll be able to make our decisions so that there will a balance between both approaches in the end. I'm sick of the Paragon/Renegade duality, I want a little balance and subtlety in the consequences of my decisions.
