Damn it all. That is truly unfair.

I didn't romance Miranda since I'm a femshep, but tbh I'm going to be annoyed if she can't serve in some sort of operational capacity on my crew. I'm already pissed that it seems like Kaidan (my Shep's ex-flame, that she can't stand) will be my XO, and Miranda's one of the few people I'd trust my ship if I go down in flames or can't personally lead.
If all this hullaballo about Kaidan getting Miranda's room is true, I want an option to give it back to her.

I don't think it has been confirmed that we'll have to play for the Alliance during all the game. I'm glad we're not working for Cerberus anymore, but it doesn't mean I have to accept to be the Alliance's puppet again.
We'll have to deal with a trial at the begining of the game, and I expect to be able to tell them what I think about their attitude during ME2.
I want to help the humanity/the Alliance against the reapers, but they'll have to let me choose my team. They won't force me to lose my most competant XO and squadmate, otherwise the reapers won't be the only thing they'll have to worry about.

"You were begrudgingly working for Cerberus in ME2" explains Casey Hudson, "but they've gone a bit further and Shepard has returned to the Alliance so Cerberus troops are a major threat"
Of course this can be taken in various degrees of how things will play out...
Besides working with Cerberus we met the wonderful Miranda! So it wasn't all bad was it?
Isn't this what you could tell the Illusive man at the beginning when he tells you about getting new people?Yannkee wrote...

We're with the Alliance at the start of ME3, and we won't have Miranda with us then, most likely. What happens after that is anyone's guess. Casey Hudon said we can roleplay against the Alliance, that sounds like we'll be able to choose our allegiances within the overarching goal of defeating the Reapers.Vertigo_1 wrote...

As for Miranda, I think she will be a free agent, not firmly allied with any one faction. Her status will also depend on what's going on within Cerberus and whether she resigned or not, but that she resigned from Cerberus in some games doesn't mean she'll suddenly like the Alliance any better than before. If all goes well, she'll have her own power base, possibly in that network of contacts she maintained through the galaxy and parts of Cerberus resources she took with her when she left, either with her resignation or later when Cerberus came to hunt Shepard.

In ME2 you are forced to work for Cerberus. It didn't bother me because they were the only ones who wanted to do something to stop the collectors. But I never trusted Cerberus (Miranda yes, but not TIM). And the cooperation between me and Cerberus ended as soon as the CB was destroyed. Too bad for TIM, he lost the alliance with a specter, the SR2 and its crew, and Miranda.

Yes, and we recruit 2 of them.
The others were not available.
I can imagine that Miranda could be not available at the beginning of the game (trying to rescue her sister), but after that I see no reasons why she would refuse to join the crew and help Shepard to face Cerberus and the Reapers.

Not that. If that is so, then inevitably her going up will be up to Shepard, given the way the games work. I want her to have power and influence independently from Shepard, which means she'll have to be there, or at least a good part of the way there, when we meet her again. Let all that other crap remain in her backstory, with the exception of the element that will define her character arc.jtav wrote...
Depending on your exact choices, I think Miranda will be in a bad way emotionally come ME3. At minimum, her faith in Cerberus has been shaken. At worst, she's sole survivor of Lazarus Cell proper, left the job that gave her her identity, killed her childhood friend, and has a sister who doesn't know she exists. She really should spend some time figuring out who she is without Cerberus. I want her to get some power and influence. but she'll start the game with few resources other than herself. She goes down in the world before she goes up.

But I do wonder how Bioware are going to pull off all the squadmate splits and separations in a way that will have the broadest acceptance to the community.

Shepard and Zaeed are having this conversation and Miranda's off in her own contemplative world. I wanted to just walk up right beside her and not say anything.

I find that whole bridge river thing with Miranda to be very well done, surprisingly it's one of my favourite parts of the game, there's this whole galaxy collectors war thing going on, but at the same time it refocuses on the character to make the game seem more human, if you understand my point. And the quietness of the scene in general underlines that.
