Good news.
And the fact that she live in the same place means she can do several record sessions over time.

It would be great to know how many time she will spend recording her lines, so we'll have an idea if she is a full time squadmate or not.

More positive thoughts : to hire someone like Yvonne is expensive, and I can't imagine Bioware wasting so much money for a character who won't appear for a long time during the game.

They did it before with Aria... Unless she's got a bigger role in ME3.

And Kal and the quarian admirals. But I do think she won't have a two minutes and done cameo like the VS. She'll be alive in more games than probably any other squad member, and it makes sense to use that. She'll have a significant role of some kind, though I don't believe she'll be permanent squad.

Carrie-Anne Moss ... since Matrix revolutions, her carreer is not amazing.
I don't think EA/Bioware had to pay a lot for her.

Anyway, I try to stay positive, and I still hope Miranda will be a permanent squadmate.

Didn't Casey Hudson or some other Bioware dev say that the conflict between our ME1 and ME2 LI's will play out throughout ME3 and culminate at the very end? That would be hard to pull off if Miranda only has a minor role like Ash/Kaidan did in ME2.

Ofc, this could just be my wishful thinking since I don't want to lose Miri as my second in command..

Yes it means that the two LI will have to interact regularly. The problem is that there too much LI characters to make them all squadmates.
But there is still the theory that if you romanced one of the remaining character not announced as squadmate, you will be able to recruit him/her definitly.

That would be an incredibly dumb idea because you'd still have to create dialogue/animations/etc. for each of them. You're not actually reducing the amount of work needed on each LI, just reducing the number that can be on the team during any single play through. And unless you want six very different people to be shoehorned into the same role, it's a very bad thing. Miranda becomes nothing more than the LI, which makes her an undesirable LI.

No, it's the same thing they did with the ME2 characters. Some of them can be not recruited and Bioware created content for them.
For now, the remaining LI not confirmed as squadmate are Miranda, Thane, Jack and Jacob. The optional characters in ME2 are Thane, Samara/Morinth and Tali (Grunt and Legion can also be consider as optional). So no, this is not a dumb idea.
And all the characters will have their own mission(s), important for the main plot. The only difference is that the players who romanced those characters will also be able to recruit them, develop the romance and have more interactions and conversations.

If they don't put her as a squad mate with Ashley in my party I'm going to make a play through where I kill off Tali, Jacob etc..... that way they have to put Miranda as a squad mate because I won't have anyone else to qualify for the position ^_^

On a side note it would be really stupid of Bioware not to have it where Miranda plays a big part in Mass Effect 3.
Because her story was so built up that it would seemed she played a big part in things to come. If not a bigger part in the whole Mass Effect lore and the Mass Effect Universe in general.
Depending on the outcome of what you did throughout the game at the end she sides with you and leaves Cerberus and takes up sides with you standing by your side. To throw all that out the window would be so mute of them.

That would make it so only ME 2 was my favorite Mass Effect of all.

Yeah I know how you feel.

There is still hope, so I prefer not thinking of what I would do if she's not a squadmate. Even if I'm tempted to end the Mass Effect series after ME2.

Heh, Jack and Tali died on my main Shep's play through. Was it calculated? Maybe. So Miranda has all the room in the world in my story :b

This is one thing I just don't get. Lack of squad-mate status, permenant or otherwise, does not mean she can't still be part of the Mass Effect story.

I can understand wanting your favorite character to get screentime and be important, but I can't reconcile abstaining from the entire third part because you can't have your favorite character around 100% of the time and take them on every mission.

The only way that Miranda can have a significant screentime is that she's a permanent squadmate. I don't say I want her since the very begining of the game, or 100% of the time, but as soon as we can join her I want to have the opportunity to recruit her definitly.
Interactions, character development, many conversations, romance, party banter  ... you can't have all of this if the character is not here during a large part of the game.
Some would be satisfied with a perm squadmate status, I don't.
I care about the fact that she could have an important role, but not at the expense of everything else. I want more than a cameo or a LotSB mission.
It's not a lightly decision I would take. I'm a hardcore Bioware fan, but as good as ME3 will be, to me the game is not worth it without Miranda.
My opinion.
