That's still a few months away. I'm hoping for some info now (Now being a few days ago)

We may get something before then via BiowareTV but I think it's unlikely...the way it works is that we are fed small bites of information (E3 being a large bite) until release...
Oh you mean Miranda info at E3...well I don't know the schedule PR set up to give out details on certain dates/months... but it obviously didn't include info on her for E3 :?

Some spoilers are meant to be known!)

Pfft tell that to Casey Hudson!

Actually, we'll be at the San Diego Comic Con July 21-24 first, but Gamescom is going to be big-time fun.

Gamescom. Nice. I am in the fortunate situation of being able to visit there in person - it's just an hour from where I live. Perhaps I'll get the opportunity to ask some questions... More then two months. Feels like forever.

I think they mistook Ashley for Miranda at the end of the Earth demo. <_<
Very insulting for Miranda.

possibly, then again they did have different locations on their "disc" that they flipped through in one video already, it's possible that other characters are there in case they decided to show them.

(however i personally believe you are right).

Arguably the most exciting glimpse of new gameplay detail, though, was a brief section of footage that showed the map screen being used to navigate between various cities on the same planet, suggesting deeper exploration than ever.

I don't remember seeing this in any of the stage demos/interviews that I watched, correct me if I'm wrong so it looks like this was exclusive to the behind closed doors demo to VIP press, so Miranda may well have featured.

Also - IGN have also put up an article about the VIP demo, with similar title and slant actually: uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/117/1174904p1.html which has more detail on Shepard's encounter with the kid in the vent (he almost survives...).

No, this was shown in one of the videos available online, though they all blend into one in my mind with their fearuring the same mission and all. And Miranda didn't appear :(

Miranda scowling at Bioware for not telling her fans anything about her team member status and screen presence

(Of course the real Miranda wouldn't do that. If someone like Miranda was in charge of Bioware's information policy, we wouldn't see or hear anything of her before release. We wouldn't even know if she was in ME3 at all.
)

Educated guess based on what we know so far: Grunt, Jack, and Miranda are three most likely to return. Thane's health should be failing by this point. Jacob is Jacob. Samara is effectively identical with Liara in terms of squad role and there's the Morinth to consider. So don't lose heart. At this point, we simply don't know.

"#E3 madness continues. I feel bad I have to bounce #ME3 fans from press/retail only line. Sorry guys. We will go big for fans this summer"

OK it is now official. I will visit GamesCom in August. I have my doubts if I'll be able to speak with any of Bioware's bigger names, and in fact I'm a near-incompetent in making contacts, but one can hope.

No pictures though most likely. I don't own a camera and anyway I have a strict policy of "no pictures of myself in public spaces".

Heh...look what's happening. I'm going to visit a video games fair because I'm a fan of a fictional character. At my age. I continue to be flabbergasted by myself.

I'm sure you will get a chance to try a demo or watch one depending how they organize that event...

I didn't mean pictures of yourself...more like pictures of the event; Mass effect stuff you know...usually when you take pictures like that your not in that shot :P

But oh well...we still want details though!

Were you the one who got to ask the first question yesterday during the Q&A?

I agree with those being the most likely to return in ME3 as full squad members but no way with Morinth and DLC characters being full squad members in ME3 and i doubt Jacob, Thane, Samara, Mordin and legion will appear as nothing more than just guests or short term squad mates.

i can imagine they will decide which LI's will and will not make it from the online gameplay data and the forums to see who is a go or not.

@Vertigo thanks for this...I must have watched that segment and just thought "Ah, its the galaxy map, looking nicely re-styled for ME3", and not even noticed that there were multiple markers on the planet showing locations my bad.

Although with this level of detail on the galaxy map...would that indicate that to change location on a given planet, let's say Tuchanka going with the screenshot, that you have to leave the planet in question just to select another location  - sound a bit long winded to me. It would be nicer if they brought back elements of ME1 Normandy gameplay, so you can actually walk on the ship yourself and select a destination in order to make this work best.

More thoughts: They went out of their way to give the players a connection with Miranda. Her skillset was designed to be useful in a variety of situations, she has loads of plot armor and is Ms. Fanservice. They even gave her a sympathy card when it turned out she was still The Scrappy to some. The devs want you to like her and they want her to survive. Why?

Oh yes. She's important.

Well we don't know if that's the case
What they showed is a demo...it's too early to tell if they implemented that yet.
The build they showed meaning the program was ME3 but it only had 3 levels to show:

We also have to remember that Miranda had plot armor in the SM. She's the only fire team leader that doesn't die if she isn't loyal. The devs made getting Miranda killed harder than anyone else on the team there has to be a reason they wanted her to be alive in ME3.

Have to ask, what's with the optimism jtav?
Not saying that your arguments do not have sense, I actually agree with you, but still, what's with the optimism?
