Miranda is easy for me. I just can't focus. Right now, I'd almost welcome somebody telling me I had to write the Liara/Miranda or the Miranda/Shepard, with a deadline and the promise of some enthusiasm. The Shepard/Miranda would be about 10,000 words, the Liara/Miranda twice that. Daunting.

My I ask, what makes Miranda easy to write? Not that its hard, just trying to maintain a balance of character and what Bioware intends.Or maybe, I should just wing it and forget where they think there going with her character?

You talking about the variety of expressions on Miranda's face is maybe based on the actress they used. Man, have you seen Chuck?

Thats one of the emphasis for Mass Effect 2, the facial expressions. The expression on every character is extremely rich. Speaking of Chuck it is by far the greatest TV show out there, not only it has the best actors but storyline wise etc, it is stunning. Sadly Adam Baldwin didnt get enough for Mass Effect 2. Who is this Kal Reegar, I hardly remember his appearance.

I dunno if it necessarily has anything to do with the choice in location, but if you have other interests at the time you start flirting around with her, she says something like " I want to make sure everyone on this ship knows your mine." Take that anyway you want. I'm not even sure what I myself, think of that comment.

It's more like "Everyone needs to know you're mine". It's her way of saying she won't share Shepard. I find that expression jarring myself, since she seems a rather private person in all other scenes and this doesn't fit, but since I never hear it myself it's easy to ignore. I think whoever wrote this wanted to have her say something "different" from the standard expressions and this was the result.

Interesting - I think she says different things depending on how you approach her romance. In my current playthough, I accused her of being jealous and then kissed her, but I have a more developed relationship with Jack. So when I go to Miranda to talk about starting something, she spits some serious fire:

Now that's interesting. You know, I never heard the romance conflict parts myself because my Shepards always focus on one LI. I wonder if there's anyone here who heard that infamous "everyone needs to know you're mine", because I didn't. Does that version even exist? Your version is much more convincing. Still uncommonly passionate, but I guess she can be excused for that ;). I get the impression Miranda, once she commits to a relationship, can be rather possessive.

I'm always amazed at the variety of expressions on Miranda's face. I don't think there's another game with such expressiveness on characters' faces - and among the ME2 characters, Miranda stands out. This is from the first romance scene:

For some reason all her facial expressions to me look "b*tchy".

True, but I believe that if someone looks pretty and also has a certain degree of intelligence, they can get away with being a little bit more b*tchy, people are more likely to be more tolerant. Miranda has both and i think shes quite attractive even from her personality.

Her facial expression looks b*tchy? For me it looks pensive.

And btw, why is it that any time a woman expresses some strong opinions, poses a strong logical argument or makes her position on something very clear in a cool and detached way, she's somehow seen as b*tchy? Really, I wish more women were like that, I find it a lot easier to deal with than the seemingly more acceptable attempts at emotional manipulation.

I don't think she looks b*tchy in that picture, but Miranda's expressions can look b*tchy. I believe they are meant to, at first. In the same way Morrigan's were.

At the same time, she can have some absolutely great, heartfelt expressions that make you go "whoa".

Damn, I love complexity.

I'm going to do some testing to see if she says that. I'll upload the result.

Apparently so Nightwriter. I've never seen it. I've seen what was in the video - I 'completed' the Tali romance before the final chat with Miranda and got that when I spoke to her to finish off the romance conversations. Admittedly, I was aiming to see what happened if you romance two characters at a time...

As for the engine room scene I personally thought it was great. It was really unique in my opinion because it wasn't on the typical king sized bed. Jack and Tali's romance scenes were in the Caps Quarter. If Miranda's romance scene was in the caps quarter then Miranda wouldn't really separate herself from Jack/Tali. Out of the 3 I think Miranda is the most confident one. She tells Shep where to go and when rather than waiting for Shep in the Caps Quarter. Also in the engine room it has some things that are unique..like that globe like thing and those blue lights. I think it suppose to represent imagery. When Shep and Miranda "do it" it's a a more "wondrous" place making it extra special. That's just my opinion.

I liked the scene itself as far as ME2 scenes go and apart from the location being uncomfortable. I agree their romance needed a more special location than the captain's quarter, but an observation deck with a window to open space would have been 500% more romantic and very special, too. Add a blue or red giant star in the background and it would have been even better. Perhaps something with a mood similar to the scene I posted on page 117 of thread 2.

The observation deck is already occupied by Samara.  Plus for her romance scene (not sure if it even counts as romance) Samara blocks Sheps attempt for a kiss in that room.  I don't think it's right to have a romance scene in someone's room unless Shep is romancing that particular person.  I do agree that the observation deck would be better but only if no one was in it to begin with. So if you go through each deck and through the process of elimination there's only 3 options.

A.Shep's Quarter
B.Miranda's Quarter  (Both quarters are the same so no point on going to Miranda's if their looking for something different)
C.Engine Room

And I don't count the galaxy map because Joker's a few feet away lol.  And I don't really like Joker.  If he didn't waste his time trying to save the first Normandy Shep would've never died.

Why not remove Samara from the observation deck the same way she cleared Tali out of the engine room? I'm sure Samara wouldn't mind. And, btw, I didn't think of occupied rooms when I posted the above: I simply wanted to say that an observation deck would have been more romantic. And it would.

I don't know about you guys, but for me any place other than Shepard's / Miri's Quaters are too public....
Because I know that Kasumi watched the entire event because she told Shepard "Really Shepard, in the Engine Room... right there where Tali works..." :P

Grr. I get so tired of hearing about Kasumi's comment! I don't have the DLC. I suppose she comments on all the romance scenes or something?

Apparently, almost no one has seen it. I'm beginning to believe it's a rumor.

What she said doesn't mean she watched them. There are some people who could watch Miranda & Shepard going to the engine room. She knows because of the rumors.
You don't have to spy them to guess what they are doing together there.
About Tali, she could only hear them, and I suppose she didn't stay when she saw Shepard entered the engine room.
