The opposite of Miranda? Like incompetent, extroverted, ugly and idealistic?
Lol. No, I'm thinking more like sweet, sincere, guileless, emotionally open, gold-hearted, and unlikely to hold onto bitterness.
You know, something like, say... this.

And who said anything about defecting? Though I am mildly amused that it took this long for the pitchforks to come out.

Do you think Miranda feels any guilt for pursuing a relationship with Shepard if he romanced someone, especially Liara, in ME? In Liara's case, Miranda knows exactly how deep her feelings run. She was there for Redemption and she knows why Liara is acting the way she is. I think she envies the fact that Shepard has someone that devoted to him.

Uh jtav, I hope you realize the flaw in your question. Liara's sole purpose is to forcefully move the story forward,so her opinion on Shepard is always neutral regardless of "relationship" status. So, how would Miranda know of a "relationship" and why would she feel guilty? You say Ash, but you'd have to rationalize her knowing of a preexisting relationship,if it really matters. After all, Death does close all doors.

Does she know? I'm wondering. Anyway, no, I don't think she feels any guilt. And she has no reason to - past relationships are past, and Shepard is pursuing the relationship at least as much as she is. So: no.jtav wrote...

You don't know Miranda, Spornicus. She might be emotionally detached, but she's not cruel. Some people don't get the difference. Miranda is above petty insults like that.Spornicus wrote...
Miranda's an ice queen, no way she cares about the ME1 LI. I bet she sends that LI pics of her and Shepard, just to add insult to injury.

thinking of doing a playthrough where i kill everyone but miranda/legion/mordin - not including dlc characters, what would be the best way to do that? (obviously not doing loyalty missions, except for those characters).

Thane (L): don't research the Thanix cannon -> Thane dies
Garrus (L): select as tech specialist -> dies
Samara (L) - select as second fire team leader ->dies
Grunt (L) - take through the swarm with Miranda, select Jacob as biotic specialist - > Grunt dies
Mordin (L) - select as crew escort
Hold the line:
Tali - side with Legion in the loyalty conflict
Jack - side with Miranda in the loyalty conflict
Jacob - don't do his loyalty mission
Result: all die
Final boss:
Miranda (L) and Legion (L)
I.e. you can do all loyalty missions but Jacob's and get the desired result. If you recruit Kasumi, do her loyalty mission for the Locust, kill her by not researching the shield upgrade. Zaeed can be killed on his loyalty mission.
If you want to have all Normandy upgrades, don't recruit Kasumi and leave Grunt in his pod. Let Thane take Grunt's role in the list above.
Alternate way for Kasumi to die: don't do her loyalty mission, let Jacob play crew escort instead of Mordin (Jacob dies), so that Tali, Jack, Kasumi and Mordin (L) hold the line, of which only Mordin will survive. One less act of stupidity (no shield upgrade) required.Disadvantage: you don't have the Locust.

I think she would envy it. It would have been an interesting thing to add to the Miranda conversations.
Anyway, we don't see any guilt. Liara is not even mentioned. So I am going to have to say "no".
Unless it's something that was simply overlooked, in which case I'm going to have to say "maybe".

wow - thanks for that. i haven't actually ever done a playthrough where anyone, dies, so i thought i'd give it a shot now (as good a time as any) just to see it, but keep my favourites for a possible me3 playthrough. didn't realise i could do so many loyalty missions! i'll probably also play an adept just to change things up, but i can't bring myself to do another femshep after me1 - although i had a very pretty one, the VA is just awful...
still gotta do my pc/screenshot run, but it's just easier to fire up the 360 than faff about with the alienware most days...
