Indeed. It really shows that the threads are mostly maintained by up to a dozen hardcore fans, maybe with the exception of Tali's. Take Thane, for instance: from the groups, he seems to have quite a lot of fans, much more than Kaidan, but his thread rarely shows up.Yannkee wrote...

Too bad there isn't much about Miranda that hasn't been discussed several times. Perhaps I shouldn't have written that FAQ - nobody has questions anymore...
BTW, has anyone tried to make a femShep that looks like Miranda? My attempts so far have been spectacular failures.

Some people don't like the atmosphere on this thread, so they rather promote their Miri love elsewhere.

Something I've been thinking about. The squad is largely comprised of people who are better than Miranda at certain things. Mordin is smarter. Jack and Samara are stronger biotics. Tali and Legion are better techs. And I don't recall her ever expressing jealousy or disparaging their talents. She hates Jack, but for other reasons. It sort of shoots down the arrogance argument, doesn't it?
Brilliant!

I thought her biotics were supposed to be really strong for a human's.
Besides that, your question seems to hinge upon the assumption that squadmates are aware of each other in ME2.
Which unfortunately they are pretty much not.

And if I can use stuff the devs didn't address to draw negative conclusions, I can us them to draw positive ones as well. Besides, she does comment approvingly on Thane and Mordin.

Lol good point.
I agree with you. I've never thought Miranda was arrogant, specifically. I merely thought she was aware of the full extent of her capabilities, as a robot might be. She seems to take no pleasure in it, and I've always thought of arrogance as one taking pleasure in oneself.

That's an unfortunate example - Miranda says she could do it. Not that I blame her, it's an experiment that hasn't been tried before, someone's bound to make mistakes. But it can be interpreted as showing a certain overconfidence.jtav wrote...
She can't do the biotic field successfully. Jack and Samara can.
From the comments on the suicide mission, Miranda has her likes and dislikes, and, on the suicide mission, makes a few wrong estimations of some squadmates' abilities. While her comments about those whose abilities she doesn't think sufficient do come across as somewhat condescending, she also approves of others' abilities, sometimes more than they deserve (for instance when she approves Samara as fire team leader). It balances out.And if I can use stuff the devs didn't address to draw negative conclusions, I can us them to draw positive ones as well. Besides, she does comment approvingly on Thane and Mordin.
And no, I never thought her arrogant.

I agree. I don't want to go back to the OT or the drooling. The OT was a pain to wade through, and the drooling made me deeply uncomfortable.

I understand why, but it's a real pity that we cannot keep the fanbase united.

Maybe because she likes to be very good at everything more than to be excellent at only one thing.

Yes, she is certainly biased in favor of those she likes. That's a very serious flaw, and one of the reasons I question why she's characterized as a good leader. To hear some people tell it though, she's an uppity b*tch they can't wait to take down a peg. And that really bothers me.

I think the drooling wasn't serious for most part. I didn't mind. Unless it was the.. ''O m g, bewbies!!'' type.
Anyway, if there's easier ways to avoid conflict, specially when not everyone are able to get along, then it should be taken. In this case it seems to be that people who feel more comfortable with each other, discuss and promote Miri in their own groups and threads.
I haven't been active on these threads for while, specially due to just feeling more comfortable elsewhere. For some people the other might seem too tense and for some the other might seem childish, but if it works better this way, then so be it.
I can't really speak for anyone, except for myself of course and I don't mean to insult anyone, who may still actively use this thread. Just pointed out, in my first post, that there are still Miri fans who still actively promote her and wish her to be seen in ME3.

Sometimes I miss it.
For example, I miss Yvonne discussions (wich is not OT to me).
I agree there were sometimes too much OT , but now I think it's too serious. I think there is a happy medium, where everyone could share their Miri love.

I can totally admit that we got way too carried away with the OT and if it had continued, we would have undoubtedly gotten the thread closed. I do, however, agree with you, Yannkee. I wish some happy medium could have been met, but it's not worth making anyone feel uncomfortable or unwelcome I think it's for the best that we have another venue to discuss those things now.Yannkee wrote...

1) Any kind of "drooling" or anything of that nature was purely in fun and not serious, normally I wouldn't assume to speak for anyone but as I've gotten to know everyone who used to frequent this thread before the majority left I feel confident in my saying so.
2) Yes, I'll admit, we were *extremely* off-topic in the old days, but I mean really...there's only so much about Miranda that can be said before we end up repeating ourselves or going into an endless dance of pointless "What-ifs" and "Would she do this" discussions. A little levity can go a long way to making a place feel more welcoming, though granted things got pretty out of hand back then.
I'd planned to keep this going but I really don't care to, just thought I'd pop back in and give my two cents.

Shepard stiffened at the mention of Liara and rubbed his palms together. "Right. Liara's one of Nos Astra's most powerful information brokers. Assuming that concierge wasn't talking out of her ass. God, I hope she was talking out of her ass. Liara an information broker? It's not like her all."
"People change." She almost told Liara only became an information broker so that she could hunt down and kill the Shadow Broker, but thought better of it. That wasn't her story to tell. Let Liara tell her boyfriend all about her quixotic quest to bring down the most powerful entity in the galaxy. It was nothing to Miranda. Except that you encouraged her down the path, whispered a traitorous voice in her head. You agreed with her when she thought that the Shadow Broker might be indoctrinated. You're the one who admitted that Cerberus didn't have the resources to rescue Feron. You're the one who told her to find something else to do while she waited on you to bring her boyfriend back from the dead. What did you think was going to happen? Of course the little idealist would run out to slay the dragon. Risking their lives was what people like her do. You had a hand in this.
No. Liara was a grown woman. She had decided to kill the Shadow Broker on her own, just as she had decided to become an archeologist on her own. Miranda hadn't told her to do it. She would have called Liara an idiot if she'd mentioned her plans out loud. She could only hope Liara didn't get herself killed. The girl was too brilliant and driven to throw her life away. The girl had run all over Omega looking for her boyfriend's body long before she'd known the exact goal of the Lazarus Project. She'd nearly been raped and killed over a corpse. Such loyalty should not—could not—be squandered on a petty quest for vengeance and the stupid hope that a lying backstabbing drell had survived.
"Not her." Shepard's voice was soft and wistful. "That's one thing I've always liked about asari. They don't change quickly. You don't come back after a six-month tour to find they've become someone entirely different. And Liara is one of the good ones. I remember all the journalists were so shocked when the reports about Zhu's Hope started coming out. Not because of the Thorian—I think they were too busy being scared ****less to be shocked—but because none of the colonists died." He sneered. "It didn't fit their little script. The Butcher of Torfan was supposed to slaughter everybody and not give a damn about them as long as he got the job done. Liara was ready to throw up at the thought of having to kill any of those people. So I knocked them all out instead. It was worth it to see the pleased little smile on her face. The medal was just gravy.
"So, Liara would never be involved in anything shady unless..." Shepard trailed off and his eyes went wide. "... unless she was in trouble. Somebody could blackmail her. The Council kept Benezia's role as Saren's second-in-command under wraps. They were worried about the bad publicity if it got out that she'd turned traitor. I guess someone could've found out in the last two years. When I find out who, I'll blow their damn head off." His words came faster and faster, until they seemed to be tumbling out like water. But why wouldn't she try to contact me? She ought to know I'll always come for her. Maybe she didn't know I was alive."
Miranda could only wonder if that was how she sounded on the way to see Niket.
