While other romances may have been cheesy, Jacob gets all the flak because he is the only character the developers felt they should take complete control of Shep away from the player and force her to act like a drunken **** when talking to Jacob at all times on the Normandy, even when the dialog had nothing to do with romance at all.

Saying goodbye to Ashley sounds the same as well. The most flirty "Dismissed, chief" you can ever hear.

Woah, woah, woah. I'm not going to disagree that "Dismissed, chief" feels like a holdover from back when they had the stones to compose same-sex LI sequences they later back out on, but "sounds the same"? Overstating, I feel.
"Dismissed, chief" is oddly playful.
Every line in the Jacob romance sounds like " Play with me?".

Yeah, this is pretty much true. I think I remember the person that wrote the Jacob romance, or someone that helped write the Jacob romance, once posted and simply said that perhaps Shepard couldn't resist the sight of Dem Abs.

As for the 'priiiize' bit, people love their memes, and it's even funnier when it overlaps with other memes. PREPARE THESE HUMANS FOR SNEAKING INTO THE CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS!

The tragedy was, from what i understand, until then it was not so bad with Jacob's romance. Don't know personally since I didn't finish it, but I romanced him up until he kisses you on the cheek (IIRC) and I remember thinking it was organic and even kind of sweet.
