I don't buy into the Game Works but you have to do "X". Esp when the BOX says I am well above the Sys Req. Keynote here is I don't have to do anything when playing other game including games that have higher System Req.
In other words it should work on the system I have everything else does.
So you dont even upgrade you graphic card?? Ok, then I know.
No, but you are updating your software right, not talking hardware.
Maybe you misuderstood me. I said I been There Done that witch means I have done it already and it didn't work. Just because certain fixes work for others does not mean it works for all. And Yes all my Drivers are current.

Thank you... what about the driver versions for the Radeon and the audio card?
For what I see, it confirms that DAO has got problems running with Win 7, as it's been reported before.
I want Win 7, but am waiting for more updates for it (and to save the money to buy the upgrade).
As for the drivers, its just the generic drivers for a generic audio card. Nothing special.
The Radeon drivers are 8.723-100406a-098768C for the driver package and 10.4 for the CCC.

The Radeon drivers are 8.723-100406a-098768C for the driver package and 10.4 for the CCC.
So in summary, it's been proved that the game runs in the following configuration:
Processor: AMD Sempron Processor LE-1300, ~2.3GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB, driver version 8.723-100406a-098768C for the driver package and 10.4 for the CCC.
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Basic (6.0, Build 6002)
Service Pack 2
Realtech audio card with Generic drivers, as provided, no updates.
Thank you Joey, I think this info will be useful for those with problems with the game... and please, if anyone has got not problems, please post yourr specs, so the rest know what could affect for running the game

Nope. Fairly cool. (And we've got central air conditioning for when it's not.) Regardless, heat contributing to a software bug just doesn't make any sense. If it's getting worse when you play for a longer time, I'd suspect a memory leak, except for the fact that C# is used (everything on the 360 must be in C#), and C#'s garbage collector should prevent leaks unless they're doing something weird.Arttis wrote...

That doesn't make any sense. How hot a system is is not going to effect anything until it's hot enough to damage the system. As long as the sides are not covered, allowing the cooling fans to do their job, that shouldn't happen. And even if there was some bizarre way that the system's heat level could effect the loot-lag, that would mean that the loot lag wouldn't happen the first time you kill something. It happens almost every time you kill something. Playing the game for 5 minutes is enough to see the issue... And it can take several minutes of sitting there waiting for the loot to spawn (I think my longest was somewhere around a 5 minute wait).Arttis wrote...

I don't generally get loot-lag that lasts 5 minutes until I've been playing for a while... But I still get at least a few seconds almost every time. I figure, the most probable reasons are that either they keep adding objects to process to a list and they don't all get removed when they should, or they're getting a lot of garbage collection processing, which is something else that could potentially get worse with time. They've likely just deleted a bunch of objects for the enemy's AI, as well as objects set up for animation handling and various projectiles... So it makes sense to me that the garbage collector could have a lot of work to do right at the time when we're seeing loot-lag. DURING the fight, they probably add all the projectiles and stuff to a list of things to delete to prevent the garbage collector from interfering in the fight. Given how Mass Effect's looting works, I suspect very much that this is Bioware's style.
For those who aren't programmers: After you've removed all references to an object, the garbage collector doesn't process their removal until you create a new object, which is, honestly, the worst time to do it, because you've gotta process the initialization of the new object. I think you can tell the garbage collector to run early though, I'm not sure. Running it as a lowest priority process when you've got a few extra cycles is probably the best way to go, but doesn't help when you've just deleted a bunch of stuff and are immediately creating something else.

Apart from the fact of the non optimal use of C# garbage collector (which, is not the best, too), the overheating in the Xbox could be caused by dust accumulation inside the device, using a vacuum might help. otherwise, the infamous RRD can appear...

Amd 4600* 2.4gz
2 gz memory
at 32 bit
win7 home
realtech audio
nvidia 9800gtx 1024 memory
before 7900gs 256 memory
and not slipped
and all drivers updated
Now I have a friend at microsoft that told me years ago that it will take programers years to get 64 bit operating systems to work for games. That is why I still use 32bit operating system my system can run at 64bit. I hope this helps. And I have posted this before.

Yes, overheating can create hardware issues, like the red ring... I was simply pointing out that it can't cause software issues like loot-lag. I don't have an overheating problem, but thanks anyway.edgarcabrerauk wrote...

Any word on when this patch will actually be released? It's
nice to see it's being worked on, but it's been eight months. I'
d like to dust the game off again if I can finally make a pure

they are going to fix the dex not being added for bows?
If it's a confirmed bug, most likely.

Let's all look at it this way.
The more they fix now, the less complaints they are gonna get.
The more they fix now, the more the expansion and future dlc's are gonna run trouble free because the extra stuff piles in on the original work and is not standalone. Just that alone is good cause for them to do a "good fix" this time around because if they don't it is gonna get more and more difficult to fix.
The more they fix now is an investment because all the meetings bug fixes and paperwork will have to be done just one time instead of several times if they just fix "some bugs". Also they can move the patchers to work that actually generates money, like dlc's....
Do it once right, instead of doing it wrong 10 times...
P.S
I am inclined to say that all of this should be done beofre Starcraft 2 is released because at that time most people will forget any other games and just play Starcraft for a solid month...me included...so Bioware is porbably aware of this...
Uhhhh just remember that when any new material such as dlc, expansion etc are introduced, you are GOING to have new bugs. So ..when it happens don't be surprised.
Yes they are working on stuff/bugs that have been around for awhile, but the moment new stuff comes into the picture, they'll be playing the bug game again.
I've been around a long time, and game patching ...you end up always expecting new bugs. Comes with the territory. Up to you if you can accept that or not, however.

Right, but you were asked because you repeatedly said, in effect, "Don't know what you all are complaining about. *My* systems doesn't have any problems." You (and not just you) then repeatedly engaged in swapping technical details of your respsective environments as if that were a public service in this thread.
I acknowledge that those conversations might have some value to certain people, just expressing my observation that there's already a better (more appropriate) place to have them, and provinding the link to it
Thanks!

The heat thing was Artiss's tangent back on page 6. (I'm notoriously easy to pull off topic.) Ignoring that though, discussion of game issues is fairly on topic, being that what we're talking about is a patch to fix issues. I was hoping for some feedback to my comments regarding a particular major bug (loot-lag) with reference to this patch... Such as "That turns out to be a sub-issue of this already listed thing." or "We're not addressing that in this patch, but perhaps in the next. Maybe." or "We don't consider that to be necessary enough to ever fix". This effects which expansions I purchase post-patch, so I'd like to know. Though, it's possible for them not to know yet, as they're still testing the patch (and therefore still working on it), and the bug may be effected by other fixes.Thandal NLyman wrote...
