I agree, but I think in order to be more sensible and come with "I've got no problems", it should be better for everyone that you and Mr. Servius post your systems specifications and drivers versions, at least the rest of the PC users could have a reference and that would help them and BW.

So, they know, from you, that they need a specific configuration, i.e. processor type, OS version, video and sound card manufacturer, drivers version and any tweak you did in your systems.

What is a fact is that DAO has got bugs, therefore no one would be complaining, still, it would be more interesting to know how you come to have no issues with your current systems, perhaps the community will realise that DAO doesn't work well with Nvidia card model xxx, with a certain version of Windows, and so on. :)

Doesn't really matter since they'll kill this
thread and start a new one for the next update which will be out - maybe
end of next week??  ../../../images/forum/emoticons/blushing.png

Victor updated this one once, so I'm hoping he continues doing that instead of opening a new thread with every update.

@edgarcabrerauk: Already sent my system specs to the first mod that asked for them when they discovered I don't have any of the issues many others have.

Good, but the mod hasn't posted it here... it would be good that you share this with the community, or to divert them where your specs are :D

Well, first off, my specs are nothing special.. Have a good graphics card, but everything else would be considered junk to about every other user.

Secondly, the bugs are not system dependent, which is why they are so wide-spread. The only thing I can figure that would cause myself and Servius to NOT have these issues, is if (by pure luck) our patches for the game got 'corrupted' during download/install that caused the bug-causing problems in the patch to be 'fixed', in a way.

Other than that, I really can't say what would be the cause of it, but its not anything to do with our system specs.

So Victor, should I set aside my current Awakenings play through and wait for the patch? I have a couple of Origins play throughs started and would be quite happy to wait to and play these for two to three weeks until the patch comes out to fix the Awakenings bugs. Thanks!

Well, the specs could be a reference, since it's widely known that some games do not run in certain configurations... your specs could be considered junk, but it's the junk that serves well to DAO to run with no problems.

So, claiming to have no problems, is more a matter of luck than the systems, therefore, instead of stating, "I've got no problems" is more accurate to say " Luckily, I've got no problems, could be that (sic) our patches for the game got 'corrupted' during download/install that caused the bug-causing problems in the patch to be 'fixed', in a way."

I just suggested that you guys, have something that back your affirmations up and to help the rest of the community to look for a solution for their issues while BW is working on it...

I had already suggested this to the mod I sent my system specs to. We aren't sure if that's what caused it, so stating that would be more inaccurate than anything, without knowing for sure. But still, its a matter of the game's code, rather than system specifications. Your system specs don't change the game's code, or fix bugs, no matter what hardware you are using.

All it is, is speculation.

So, what is not speculation is that the game has got bugs and despite your claims that there's no problem with your configurations, the game does have got issues...

Not entirely accurate. What is NOT speculation is that the game has bugs. That's it. I have never experienced any of the bugs that have been described. Not once. Just because I said it has nothing to do with your system specs, does not mean I'm saying I've got the same issues.

And before you make the claim, by me saying "the game has bugs" its not the same as me saying "my game is bugged". Just thought I would clear that up before it became an issue.

Yourself have claimed that the game has got bugs, but "your game" is not bugged... and I think most of the people in this thread recognise that the game has got bugs, no that "their is or not bugged".. and I think the reason why people get funny is because an affirmation is not sustained by something tangible, in this case system specs, which yourself have denied as a proof, just expecting that people would believe you because you say it, in a thread where evidently everyone is grateful of having information of a patch because the game has got bugs, really seems that your affirmation is out of place...

I think i might try the PC version, always up 4 new challenges yet i r nerd with games :P

Anyhow, onto the main topic, Has the patch came out on PS3? I haven't had any recent updates since Darkspawn Chronicles. There is a certain bug i found today in Redcliff, i did Stens quest for his sword, it seems that the quest is somehow repeatable, bizarre, as i had the chat about how he fell to the darkspawn n being in the cage, it lead to the conversation which u get the sword quest.

Nice work. Loving the updates, I'll likely take a break from Super Street Fighter 4 to grab Darkspawn Chronicles and play through Origins and Awakening again after the patch drops.

If it'll potentially speed up the patching process at all, don't be afraid to put beta patches out there for community QA testing. It works fro Blizzard on their PTR servers, and while that is a different beast, many of your customers, like myself, would be more than happy to test beta patches and let you know if things are indeed fixed or not.

Great idea!

Ok.. First, providing system specs would be no proof of anything for this discussion, that's why I did not give mine. No point to it.

Secondly, I don't have to prove anything. I very well could, by capturing a video of me stealing and it actually working, but again, no point in doing so. I was just adding relavent information for mods/devs to use with patch developement, which is why I sent my system specs to one as well as all modules and dlc I have installed and running. That makes it not so 'out of place', since it is information that can be used in future developements of games, dlc, and patches.

And finally, people 'getting funny' wouldn't and doesn't bother me.. What did bother me was when I got flamed simply for saying to someone entirely different (not to the one who flamed me) "you're not alone".

I, too, however am always grateful for a patch, whether I'm playing a bug-free game or not, simply to keep my copy up-to-date. Glad to help you clear all that up :)

I also agree with BrunoB1971 with regard to fixing as many bugs now as possible and I don't mind waiting for as long as it takes...

?!?  For many, (who's systems meet, and even far exceed, the stated "requirements") the product is unusable:  it stops running due to program-induced failures.  But you say you're "willing to wait as long it it takes" to fix all the [known] problems?  Then I would guess that you're another who has never had to allocate scarce resources to address most pressing concerns...

Of course deciding what constitutes "most pressing" is a subjective decision.  That's what managment, (including software project managment) is all about.  Exercising judgement so as to allocate resources effectively.  We can argue endlessly about particular criteria, but "relative importance" will always be among them.

As soon as there are others, like customers, involved, one realizes that there are many criteria beyond "doesn't work right" in deciding what to address.  Else the Good will always wait (endlessly) for the Perfect.

Considering we don't know what all they have worked on, beyond what is confirmed to be in the patch, we have no real idea how long they have been working to address these bugs

They only locked the other thread because it got more than a little toxic., so to speak.

Exactly. It's been a while since I saw a thread that bad.. It was quite the harsh environment..

Thank you, but I still believe that if everyone who has no issues with the game would provide the system specs to help the rest of the community to give some insight of what is wrong, as you have done and as you well said: "I was just adding relavent information for mods/devs to use with patch developement, which is why I sent my system specs to one as well as all modules and dlc I have installed and running.", it seems that the specs could be relevant not only to mods and devs, but also to people who have issues, perhaps it has to do with the code, but it might help them to be sure that their systems are able to run the game, and it is indeed the game that has bugs.

It seriously won't help much with the patch and the bugs. Their is a panel on the back of the game for the minimum specs required and recommended, but they aren't all that accurate.. If it truly is such a big deal that I post my system specs (even though it will help nothing) here it is (all that would have anything to do with game playability):

Processor: AMD Sempron™ Processor LE-1300, ~2.3GHz

Memory: 2046MB RAM

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB

Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Basic (6.0, Build 6002)

Please stop Feeding the Troll. He hasn't posted any Proof or anything of value to the last 2 threads. Except to argue with people. You, I and many others here know the game has bugs FACT otherwise BW wouldn't be posting about upcomming patches. What amazes me is that people are trying to be Civil but, it's just turnning into My Game Works Fine Yours Doesn't Thread.

Thank you... what about the driver versions for the Radeon and the audio card?

For what I see, it confirms that DAO has got problems running with Win 7, as it's been reported before.
