As stated in my topic this is my second playthrough and this time im doing things a bit different. ""SPOILERS""
This time around in the mages tower I sided with the Templars and had to execute Wynne for example. My first playthrough Alistair was a constant companion, this time around I've replaced him with Sten. So heres my question should I take Alistair with me to Redcliffe? It sort of seems that story-wise it would not make sense to leave him behind. (sorry for the longwinded post)
Second playthrough advice.

Alistair will turn up should the story demand it. In the meantime you can use the Sten Gun.

After having Sten and others criticize almost every choice made in Redcliffe, Alistair will be a pleasant change at some point.
