My ME1 disk ( Xbox 360) only has a few small scratches and smudges that all of my disks have, less even, but today it just randomly started saying that "disk is unreadable." I tried wiping it with a wet cloth (didn't do it in the right direction though, not sure if that or the water or what matters, I'm second guessing everything now) and restarting the consol, still the same.
Is there some reason for this, or am I just going to have to buy a new disk? This has never happened to me before.
All of my other disks work.
I should note that just before I unsuccessfully tried to start the game, I booted up the bonus content disk and started to download the dlc. I then tried to look at something else on it, but then the whole consol froze. When I restarted it, it then told me that the download had failed (I wasn't connected to Live, in retrospect.) Is this a coincidence, or what?

I got the same problem. My disc is basically spotless. It did this not to long after I got it. It wouldn't play and then for some reason it started playing. My other games do fine. Now it is acting up again.

If you've clocked enough time into Mass Effect 1, you SHOULD be able to go onto the page where they sell the downloads and download the game directly for free, My disc was too scratched and I was using a different hard drive so it may not work. and you may have to buy it again, but if you do have to buy it again, it's like 20-30$, much less then the initial cost, PM me to see how that turns out.

Also, now even for the working account the menu is glitching, when you hit start and the camera pans up to show stars, the blue main menu is layered over it (I can tell because the stars still stick out on one side of the screen.) Now what's happening?
