Mage clothing.

The most appealing thing from Arcane Warrior is actually the fact that I won't look like I am a little boy fighting in his pyjama's and wearing a hat made by his grandmother.
So... yeah... Is there any (Talking post-level-13) mage armor/robes/clothing that actually looks like a menacing mage and has beneficial stats?

There is an upgrade to the chasind robe called the Witchs' Robe sold in Wonders of Thedas, in Denerim. Same look, but purple and with better stats. Maybe not great for level 13+ but better than the first chasind robe. Unfortunately that's all I can offer.

I think I got those Archon Robes, think either Morrigan or Wynne wears them currently. The Robe I got is sadly better (I think).
I keep getting these awesome plate armor pieces, and Alistair is currently wearing my full set of Juggernaut armor. Looks great and the stats are great. My mage looks ridiculous and the stats are hardly a boost.
Some more Mage loving please!
But I'll have a look in Denerim then.

I haven't noticed armor having any effect on their spellcasting, other than a minor increase in mana costs.

I just dressed my women in leather. They look much better, and they still cast fine. Morrigan in leather - rowrrrr.

It is more the +Spellpower, + Willpower, +Magic, +1.5 Mana regeneration in combat - that I am worried about, regarding stats.

How about Dragon Plate Set with Arcane warrior specialization? With the added Blood Mage abilities from Warden's Keep and you get a Mage who can tank and replenish mana very quickly. Toss in a healer to the party who auto replenishes your health and I think you will almost never struggle in battle.
I was thinking of that. But in the end I will not pick Arcane Warrior. Drastically changing my playstyle so I do not look silly, is not worth it.
Personally I think the Dragon armor should reflect the class you're
playing and not just for those with high strength. And on top of that
I'd like to see lots more variations on all equipment and weapons in
this otherwise fantastic game.
That. The Dragon Armor should be specific to your class, indeed. It works with Arcane Warrior, sure, but you should be able to buy a cloth version of it too. And leather version (or so) for dexterity and such.
