Beyond the initial armor, the different armor that is simply other shades of colours from the initial armor, and the chasind robe you can find in the Wilds... Is there any good looking armor? I liked the chasind robe, but the +defense is quite useless after a while and currently I am stuck wearing the Enchanter Robes (Or some such) and a hood with the most ridiculous look I have thus seen.

The most appealing thing from Arcane Warrior is actually the fact that I won't look like I am a little boy fighting in his pyjama's and wearing a hat made by his grandmother.

So... yeah... Is there any (Talking post-level-13) mage armor/robes/clothing that actually looks like a menacing mage and has beneficial stats?

Probably not. I totally agree with this too. The bathrobe look was never my thing. I also refuse to don those silly looking caps. I rather not have the stat boosts from them than have my character wear them.

There is an upgrade to the chasind robe called the Witchs' Robe sold in Wonders of Thedas, in Denerim. Same look, but purple and with better stats. Maybe not great for level 13+ but better than the first chasind robe. Unfortunately that's all I can offer.

I really really lke the Archon Robes I'm wearing. Got it in Circle of Magi. It looks a lot less robe like and the shoulder feathered pads are a nice touch.

I refused to wear other armor than the Chasind Robe for a while... Then I gave up the hope of getting nicer armor, and gave in and started to wear the significantly better robes and ridiculous caps.

I think I got those Archon Robes, think either Morrigan or Wynne wears them currently. The Robe I got is sadly better (I think).

I keep getting these awesome plate armor pieces, and Alistair is currently wearing my full set of Juggernaut armor. Looks great and the stats are great. My mage looks ridiculous and the stats are hardly a boost.

Some more Mage loving please!

But I'll have a look in Denerim then.

I just dressed my women in leather. They look much better, and they still cast fine. Morrigan in leather - rowrrrr.

I haven't noticed armor having any effect on their spellcasting, other than a minor increase in mana costs.

It is more the +Spellpower, + Willpower, +Magic, +1.5 Mana regeneration in combat - that I am worried about, regarding stats.

Yes!! Better mage stuffs please!!! Mine is currently wearing the chasind robes and a random light armor helm; I absolutely detest the absurd looking mage caps. Really, is it really too much to ask for a simple hood?!? I love playing the mage in this game but I'm not fond of their fashion sense >.<

What i did was find plate that gave + to stamina. With a mage, this translates into mana. Being arcane warrior with or without your form on - you use a crapton on mp just because your fatigue is through the roof, so i found a bunch of gear that just gave me stamina and threw it on wynne. After that I didn't have mp problems during battle anymore, though mp regen down-times were a little steep.

I'm not past level 13 yet, but I also like the Archon Robes. The hats, though? HORRID.

How about Dragon Plate Set with Arcane warrior specialization? With the added Blood Mage abilities from Warden's Keep and you get a Mage who can tank and replenish mana very quickly. Toss in a healer to the party who auto replenishes your health and I think you will almost never struggle in battle.

Personally I think the Dragon armor should reflect the class you're playing and not just for those with high strength. And on top of that I'd like to see lots more variations on all equipment and weapons in this otherwise fantastic game.

I was thinking of that. But in the end I will not pick Arcane Warrior. Drastically changing my playstyle so I do not look silly, is not worth it. :P I like being ranged, Arcane Warrior will force me to go melee and auto attack everything to death with having my passives on (That is from what I gathered after experimenting a bit, which I just did. I got 6 spell points available currently, saving it up for Spirit Healer)

That. The Dragon Armor should be specific to your class, indeed. It works with Arcane Warrior, sure, but you should be able to buy a cloth version of it too. And leather version (or so) for dexterity and such.

Went to Denerim, had a look... Bought the Tevinter Mage Robes. Looks a lot better, and decent stats. Gave the ridiculous hat to Wynne... I can live without it. (Looks like Dalish Keeper robes, which I like)

Tevinter robes and reaper vestement. It's the same graphic, but they're both very good choices for endgame robes. Actually I wear the reaper one on my arcane warrior. Looks cool and I still get about 25 armor, which is good enough for normal anyway.
