Hello,

I installed Dragon Age: Origins a few weeks ago. Been playing it but decided I wanted to take a break and play ME2 again. I played it right up until I got DA:O with no problems, but now the graphics are all messed up. For example, the loading screens are fine, but when I enter the game, everything is dark and the characters are all placeholder figures. On the main menu I can only see a little box around the options (which I can still read and access). If this description isn't good enough, I can take or try to take a quick video of it.

I know this is related to installing DA:O because I had - and still have - the exact same issue with DA. The difference is for DA all I have to do is restart the game and DA runs just fine. For ME2 I've restarted the game several times, restarted the computer a couple, and changed graphics resolution for the game before and after entering it. None of these had any affect.

There have also been similar graphics issues with non-Bioware games which also started after DA:O.

This is probably a better question for the DA forums, but for all the other games except ME2, we've been able to adapt around the problem. ME2 on the other hand is being subbornly graphic-broken.

My best guess is that we installed some driver or something for DA:O that is interfering with everything, but I don't know of any way to now find out what that was, how to remove it, if DA:O could do without it in the first place, etc.

Let me know if you need any details about my system and which details in particular.

Any assistance with this would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I wouldn't think DA:O would be messing anything up, but I suppose you could try running a DirectX 9 updater. The DX9 libraries are about the only thing I would think the two games share.

Update your graphics card drivers and direct x. If push comes to shove, just reinstall ME over itself.
