I've played ME2 and noticed the dynamic shadows are WAAAYYY better then ME1. So my question is does anyone know what the values for shadows in ME2 are and could we make the shadows in ME more like in ME2?

Hello,

Check this guide for Mass Effect tweaks:

www.tweakguides.com/ME_1.html

I have some problems with ME1 aswell, mostly with AA but I'm not able to enable it :(
The guide is easy to follow and sometimes can improve graphic quality a lot.

Hope it helps.

I've already tried the tweak guide. It didn't work. I've also tried other tweaks but they didn't improve the shadows much. I know it's possible to make the ME1 shadows look like ME2 shadows because both games run on the same engines! But what i'm asking is this. Is there any way to make the ME1 shadows look like those in ME2?

They don't. ME1 runs on Unreal engine 3, ME2 runs on Unreal engine 3.5.

Yeah but much of the code of UE3.5 is the same as UE3.

You're not going to have any luck fixing the dynamic shadows. A .5 iteration of an engine is actually a significant change to the codebase. ME2 is a current generation game, ME1 isn't, and try as it might ME1 just won't look like current gen.

Neither one does AA either, even with hardware overrides, which bugs the heck out of me way more than glitchy shadows.

This is / was the only thread that was required for this subject. The new one is surplus to the forum's needs.
