Iona was dead no matter what man.  Either due to location or stupidity.  Who opens the door unarmed when suspected danger is inthe hall?  I don't even do thisin real life.

LOL this yes...I do the same thing every time.  Why do people in these things always do the exact opposite of what someone with a normal sense of self preservation would do?

Alas Iona died and I HATED that I couldn't help Amethyne in the Alienage.

Does Iona even bother getting dressed before answering the door? I know she doesn't give you a chance to.

I liked Gorim the best followed by Nelaros from the CE origin. I really liked how Nelaros was making the best of their situation, giving compliments to help them start off on the right foot. I really don't like that he had to die, but I understand. Glad Gorim wasn't one of those that went crazy or had to die in order to be unavailable to the PC for the rest of the game. At least he found his own happiness and still wishes the same happiness in return for the PC. That's a mark of a good soul.



And I know that Gorim is 99.999999% unlikely to be a romantic interest ever again, but the experience with him has me excited about how they'd handle a dwarf romance in a future game. Y'know, who could it be, where would it be from, etc? Gorim is also a very nice contrast to Oghren, who can be pretty repulsive at some point in Awakening. There's hope!

I like very much Tamlen, when Im playing Dalish Elf Origin. I wish, that Tamlen, Merrill and Fenarel could be a perma companion in DA:O. It could be nice, to be able to travel with specific Origins companions ( Gilmore, Leske, Gorim, Jowan etc) and develop more all relationships we had with them.

Me too. I'm not in the habit of choosing sentiment over sweet sweet stat bonuses, but for this one I made an exception.

I kept the ring on the whole game. If any LI would really have a problem with me keeping my dead fiance that I barely knew's ring after he died to save me then that is there problem and not mine not to mention really rather petty and not going to make me inclined to remove it any sooner.

Maybe once you get engaged again you could at least change put it on a different finger but until then...

He only minorly counts as you can ask him why you two never got together and Lily is very interested in the answer. Apparently it never occured to him that you might like him and he actually gets kind of adorably flustered. See here.

My favorite origin romance was Gorim, but I also liked Duncan for the HN. My FHN was infatuated with him since the first time she saw him and that's why she wanted to join the Wardens lol, I like to think that he turned down her proposition because it wasn't "proper" but he really wanted to =)...Duncan is so handsome *sigh*

Aww Jowan is so cute. I really wanted my mage and Jowan to have a true reunion in private after Arl Eamon was cured . It was hard to romance Alistair during my mage playthrough because I had unfinished business with Jowan:(

This is all Howe's fault. If it weren't for him you could have been practically all alone in the castle with him with a sister-in-law who urges discretion, a nephew too young to understand, and the rest of the family gone.

I agree with both of you.  With Dog going nuts at the door like that it is probably safe to say don't be opening that door unarmed.

Heh, my Kallian chose the "I never wanted to get married anyway" option.

I kind of wish there had been more women as origin pseudo-romances, though...
