FYI digital downloads are LOL.  Good luck ever getting reinbursed if something goes wrong with your digital copy.  Always buy a physical copy.

I too enjoy making foolish comments based of a opinion I made up by using unfounded bs assumptions and ficticious facts I plucked out of the air.

Umm, what?  I have never seen a store give a refund on an opened box game.  But I have recieved a full refund from Steam on a game that was unplayable on my computer for some strange reason.  I had to send money to get CD/DvD replaced a few times for my physical copies, never have to do that with digital copies.

Must be since I did the same thing recently...  well except it was 5 games off of steam, but hey what are numbers anyway.
Maybe take it to the steam support.  I will give you sympathy tho since they are a pain in the ass and slow as a turtle.

Neither of these two DLC is working for me. Both are bugged atm. Great job on DLC there EA/Bioware. It was a wonderfull feeling that after paying 25$ extra, neither of the content actually worked.

The problem is caused by loading a savegame before the game has succesfully logged itself onto the dragon age servers. If you don't notice it before saving, you're ****ed. Happened to me twice ( In the fade, incase some smartass should comment on not seeing it)

You don't need to log in or be online at all in order to use the DLC, though.  If you have a physical copy of DAO, there is no required online component of the DLC aside from activation when you install it.

Once the DLC is installed, you never need to log in again.

This is where I already am suspecting that somehow when you are logged in and the servers gets borked or any residual files in the downloaded cache can break the DLC thereby resulting to being perceived as unauthorized, so when you are playing and this happens the tendency would be it would bug your game, that's my theory on this.

So the when you install, login and download all your registered DLCs then log off, you don't need to be logged-in when playing the game.

The only importance of playing logged-in is the bragging rights that achievements and points are posted on your bioware social profile nothing more. It doesn't help you or anything on other aspects of the game.

This.

Bug free code is a myth. Devs will probably fix 90% of their bugs and QA will probably catch 90% of the bugs dev doesn't fix but there are some numbers that suggest there about one bug per couple lines of code. For games like DA I'd pin the coud count in the hundreads of thousands.

Also, every bug fix also introduces the risk of more bugs.

To the OP, if I were in your shoes I'd make this post in the tech support forum to get help for the problems. There isn't much help in making a rant post in the general forums other than starting flame war.

Not quite true.  Because of the problems they had with EA accounts and account linking, I ended up with Stone Prisoner registered to one account and Warden's Keep registered to another.  Because of this, I cannot play a single game with both sets of DLC at the same time.  I must choose between one or another, or buy one or the other a second time.  If they don't get this straightened out, I will campaign against Bioware's DLC with my dying breath if need be.  My loyalty to my most beloved game developer has been severely tested since this game was released.  The sad part is that the game itself is magnificent.  But for all that Bioware employees would like to say that EA is not the corporate monster in the closet that we all fear, I am clearly hearing things go bump in the night.  Don't think you can't lose the loyalty of your fans and your reputation in the industry Bioware.  EA bought you to put a new shine on their image.  But it can work the other way.  It may be that they tarnish your image.  Whose gravity is stronger?  We will see quite soon I expect.

But if you don't log in, how does the game know which one should work?  I would think logging in creates this problem for you.

I wonder. from what i have seen on the forums is that people ow have digital copies are having technical issues. I have a physical retail copy and have not had any problems at all. I'm curious if everyone here that is having a problem is playing a digital copy. If u are having this issue post if u have a digital copy or physical copy.

I'm very interested to see.

I was a good boy and bought the digital collectors edition, and for what?

I had no problem installing the dlc and both quests were a delight to play,  but then all of a sudden wardens peak is gone along with all my loot i got and stored there. And when i try to speak to Shale i'm teleported to a black screen with the option to "activate golem" and there's no way to get back, effectively breaking the game.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

And this problem just apperared out of the blue, I didn't install no broken patch or anything. People speculate that this is due to servers being down for maintenance awhile ago , can this really be true? Can the dlc system be so god damn stupid?

I'm 30 hours into this game and I was really enjoying it up until now.

It's really pissing me off that the stuf i pay EXTRA for ruins my game.

Please fix this now.

This link is very good for fixing bugs yourself - I have a working Shale, but I can't say about Warden's Keep or any of that. I know you shouldn't HAVE to fix them yourself, don't moan, just do it and get on with life.

I could post whining about the whining about the whining.
But that would only produce more whining wouldn't it?

Anyway, if you didn't search for ways to fix it before complaining, I facepalm at your actions OP.

Dunno, I just thought it'd be a cool way to insert 2 Larry Niven words into one post.

I have digital download, and  my game isn't having any problems.  Although I HAVE noticed loading times have increased to rediculous levels.  But I deleted a bunch of old saves and the load time seems to be close to normal, so that was probably it.

Guys, its a rant. Treat it as such. We have all gotten angry at something and wanted to shout it out to the world. At least the OP stated it was a rant. Playing for 30hrs only to have to start over or deal with loosing some of your gear and a companion would certainly annoy me.

Again, if he didn't search for a way to fix it before ranting (which it appears he did not) makes him look all the more raging foolish.

Well...if he HAD searched for a fix first he wouldn't have been ranting...which after all is synonymous with 'raging foolishly'.

My copy is digital, but I've not experienced these issues. Just finished the game minutes ago.

Top you others that seem to think it's fine to call names and be rude to people that post 'rants' or 'whining' posts: think again. As someone noted, it's only natural to be upset when things go wrong. Even if you don't agree with the tone or content of a post, it doesn't afford you the privilege of insulting that person.

Sylvius: the DLC is tied to an account, so if you don't log in to that account in the game, the content will not be available. If he doesn't log in at all, neither would work. (Note, this is different than being on-line to contact the server).
