Morrigan's Disapproval in Redcliffe

I always think that it takes away from the game when you lose faction/alignment/approval arbitrarily, so I thought I'd mention it. It just doesn't seem like a proper place to lose points.

Anything else will probably irk her.

There should have been two choices: the "good" choice of defending the village and then assaulting the castle, or the heartless choice of abandoning the village by going directly to the castle. If those were the choices, then Morrigan's disapproval would make sense. However, since it seems you can't enter the castle without saving the village, approval/disapproval makes no sense at all.
Couldn't you just let Redcliffe get wiped out?

Besides, there are parts and weapons in here you get nowhere else. And the story is well worth the playthru.
Trust me on that.......

Turn down Redcliffe. +4
Take them back up on it. -5
Ransack the Smith's house. +2 (or was it from something else?)
You don't need Redcliffe to get to the Arl, though. There's a reason lots of people hate Redcliffe, it is a very hard fight. She's downright sensible for not wanting to get involved in it, if a bit heartless.

I still saved the Arl though. So it can be done.

Yeah Morrigan is practical, the village is of no importance to you strategically.

Absolutely not, it and the family of the Arl are crucial to the plot line.

I trust you're uninformed. You can abandon Redcliffe to its fate.

Plus I think she has the most gifts you find. Jewelry are spewed all over the game.

I just recieved a -5 disapproval from Morrigan because I offered to help the town of Redcliffe defend against the attacks from the castle. She doesn't think that we should be wasting our time when we have a much bigger mission. If this were just some small town of no importance, that might make sense, but in my mind, this is furthering our primary mission. We have to get to the Arl, who is in the castle where the attacks are coming from. At the very least, in helping to defend the town, we would get a better idea of what is going on with the castle, and possibly gain some allies in the town, in case we need them. Since we need the Arl's help, it certainly does not hurt to have helped his people and his brother. It may not be a factor in game, but it shouldn't be ignored. -5 is a huge hit to take for something that really is furthering our own cause. Especially when doing something she likes usually only gets you 1 or 2 points.

Never ever try reasoning with a b-i-t-c-h.
