Leviathan of Dis was some species's last shot at taking out Reapers. Might have killed one or 2 but they didnt have a sustainable method to keep the thing running/Prothean type situation where the numbers of the people involved, it would take way too long to repopulate and the people died out.

Maybe the Levi held off what was left of a Reaper invasion for a while, but the world it was defending was still destroyed by a Reaper blast from millions of miles away.

Which gets me thinking; If the Reapers wanted to, they could fire a shot from dark space (and with highly advanced targeting, which we have reason to believe that they have) they could probably hit and destroy the Citadel.

But, something makes me think the Reapers wont think to destroy the Citadel, but IMO its the best possible target.

My personal suspicion is that the Leviathan either pre-dates the Reapers or was contemporary with the first of them, that it's a form of technology lost after the Reapers set up the Citadel and its technology Shmuck Bait...

An ancient Prothean ship perhaps?

Billion years old. Assuming the present cycle represents an average, 20 galactic cullings between its existence and the Protheans. Unlikely.

Am I the only one that heard Legions voice when I read this response? I agree with ite but the way you composed it gave me a Legion vibe. :)
