New LI's would be to much. You would have to recruit them as squaddies and then go through the motions for the third time. I think they should just keep to fufilling the stories of the current ones and their relationship with Shepard (depending on which one you chose).

You know this is one point i agree  with you.

I think ME2 romance was crap, felt rushed and wasn't very deep. ME1's is marginally better for me but as far as my personal opinion goes, DAO still has the much better romance than both games.

There are nine characters we can currently romance, we don't need any others. The ME1 LI fans were already screwed over once, I don't think that really need to happen again, and with the addition of the ME2 LI fans being screwed over as well.

I really think they need to focus on the ones we already have. Otherwise, we'll get no mention of our former love interest throughout the game, and just see them briefly mentioned on an epilogue slide. *sighs*

I think ME 1 and 2 have set the stage I don't think there will be any new major characters. It's just the galaxy and a fleet of reapers prepared to duke it out in the galaxy. There may be a chance to fully romance Samara and whats her name... green chick that got the thorian treatment? Anyway I say that because they were already implied for romantic tension but other than that I doubt there will be any more characters for romance. But only Bioware knows what will happen.

We have to keep in mind the wildcard or variable....every person doesn't have the exact same playthrough. We don't know who allowed who to live or who allowed who to die. For example, if I played through with a maleShep and only allowed Grunt and Garus to survive, obviously there will have to be new squad members to replace the ones that died. As a result of this, there is a possibility for a new romance to pop up. We can't completely close the door on Shepherd getting a new LI. What about Gianna Parasini, Shiala, Emily Wong, Aria, Maeko Matsuo, Dr. Chloe Michel or, it could even be someone from Shepherd's past that we know nothing about. The fact of the matter is, we don't know what Bioware has planned....but.......IT BETTER BE DAMNED GOOD!!!

I think they should have a couple new ones with the addition of all the options from ME1 and 2.

it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing especially if a new player played it, but I would rather have that they improved the current LI in mass effect 3

Only if the romances bring something new to the table, which would be pretty difficult to do since it seems like s/s romances have gotten the shaft both times so far... and there aren't exactly a lot of other options left.

But to tell the truth, I just want to see the continuation of my romance with Miranda. New LIs wouldn't be a bad thing, it encourages me to play the game again and I would love to be able to choose Joker as a LI for my new femshep.

Considering the number of teammates that could be killed off in ME2 (and the one in ME1), the number of recurring LI's would be logistically limited. Of the originals, only Liara is certain to have lived through the events of ME2, and even that doesn't ensure survival into ME3.
