I just bought a copy of mass effect 2 recently , and when i got home after plugging my 360 i realized that my modem was not working anymore.
That in itself is not much of a problem for me anyway since i dont usually like to play online, but i found out that there was a patch for the planet scanning part of the game and i would really like it.
My question is, would there be a way to put the patch on like a USB drive and install it from there or any other way to update the game from the pc?

Unfortunately the only way to patch 360 games is via xbox live.
It is not possible to patch games using USB drives.

how do you patch the game is it an aoutomatic thing or you have to find it on the xbox live since I am recently using for this with no offense since the PS3 store thing seems a bit easier compered to xbox or maybe is the inexperience I have with xbox live

Log in to Live, and start the game. You will be asked if you would like to download the patch. Automatic, and very easy.
