I'd like to make a request to aspiring modders for Dragon Age:Origins. It's very simple, really. This would be an action bar that is common to all characters. You put your health and mana pots, injury kits, poisons perhaps, balms etc. on this bar. Each character would have access to it.

This would solve the problem of having to add these items to each character's bar as you get them, and then again as you get newer "common" items. This would save a very significant amount of time and tedium. Often during battles I'll want to use and item on a character, and find that it is not on their action bar. Then I'll have to open inventory, drag the item, then use it. This really breaks up the flow of the battle. This can happen quite often, especially when playing characters that have been sitting on the backburner for a while. This would also free up a lot of space for skills for users that don't have widescreen monitors.

As for location, I would suggest placing it vertically on the right side, but having it movable by the player is the best option.

Sadly the GUI is not moddable, this would be something only BioWare could do.

Really? Bummers. The UI could use a lot of work, imo. Ok, hopefully someone from BioWare will see this then.

I can't believe the GUI isn't moddable..I hadn't thought about it a lot..but I HAD when I had to add potions to all my chars action bars..it's not a huge deal..but it is annoying..and sorta silly. Definately would be nice to have a shared bar for all..even just a little 5 square one off to the right or something..

I agree, making the UI not moddable is just stupid. Bioware should make it so it is...
