I love Mass Effect.  I beat it about 8 times.....I want to put a new Femshep through but I can't....the combat, the glitches.... its just bad... I'm a console player so that means I can't cheat...

I need new tips to make it worthwhile.....

- I always play paragon... being a renegade is really being a douche IMO

-  I was thinking about keeping Shep single to try the Jacob romance... but I don't know Image IPB

I just don't know how to make the game sparkle for me like it did when I first played... I even know half the dialogue by now.... Image IPB

I still want to play nice girl... but with fresh new choices

I would say to wait a while before you replay it. should regain some of that "sparkle" it had the longer you stay away from it.

After ME3 comes out, they should remake the ME games, since fanboys will buy it no matter how much they protest.

I would say buy it for the PC. it's very cheap now and messing around with console cheats is fun!

I'm a console player and I'm going to be a troll you have it coming. ME 1 is a great game and your crazy if you can't play it again. If the games machincs make you not want to play it that much. Take it outside and burn it or give it to someone who does like it. ME 1 I've played 25 times and beatin 25 times. I've lost 5 consoles and 4 hard drives, but ME 1 never gets old. You are not worthy of the mass effect 1 game. Its great game. If its the mako is your problem then just go straight for the bases. I'm replaying the game for a 26th time with a new femshep and I'm enjoying likes its new candy. If you think the shooter of mass effect 2 is great slap yourself. Mass effect 1 is a great game and mass effect 2 adds the spice. If you truly love MAss effect period, You will know your role and shut your mouth. Stick that game in your console and play the damn thing. End of story. Point taken and made. Now I'm done Trolling. I'm a devoted fan of mass effect. I even have books. Now you should start acting like you are too or don't play the game!

I have no problems with ME1 on consoles, so I dont know why your complaining. I find ME1 easier to replay than ME2.

I love how you call yourself a troll, cause it's so true. Move along, don't feed him.

Well, getting back to the topic.

Changing gender or alignment really changes things up.

Ah, grand. They've come to beat that horse in all threads you might be able to compare the two games.

This forum has taught me I don't like RPG video games, apparently. I enjoy a game in which you play a single character, molding their advancement to your tastes, taking on major missions and small sidequests, and making decisions for them that stretch beyond "when to use this power" or "who to target". I like those kind of games, but since I prefer the ones that aren't filled with math-cruft for tradition's sake they're not RPGs. Wish I knew what genre I was playing a role in.

Then realize that ME1 is broken as hell, jam packed full of plot holes, and has a bunch of needlessly binary choices, and requries no skill or anything other than Frictionless Materials and Defensive Powers to win every single encounter and rejoice in the fact that we have ME2.

But ME1 is a sh*tty shooter therefore a good RPG.

What's all this crap about "lol, ME2's story sucks"?

I loved Mass Effect 2's story. All I ever hear is that it sucks. Not why it sucks, just that it sucks. Care to elaborate?

ME2 story was not very plot related. Since the game was based on squad mates rather than the actual plot, they think it sucks.

The two are, of course, mutually exclusive.

Name me the plot holes and I'll double the number that were in ME2, no joke... go for it.  There's numerous holes right at the start of ME2, the start meaning the first 15 minutes, let alone the rest of the game.

And how are the choices in ME2 any less binary? I must have missed something.

And also, when did ME2 require skill?  I must have missed something again because my insanity playthrough with an Infiltrator was beyond cake...

Your reasons require work, come back with some new ones, I'll wait.. Actually I'll be back on in the morning, hopefully we can discuss this more then ^_^

ME2 was weaker on the overarching plot, but it was defintiely a game where the plot focus was on the characters, which it definitely did much better than the first game.

The choices in ME2 are much less binary. You have plenty of chances to "take the third option" in almost any decision in the game, except for the last one, or where no plausible third option exists.

And of course your insanity run was a snooze fest if you're playing with possibly the most overpowered class in the entire game (though Soldier will give you a run for your money)

I don't think you should accuse people of their reasons require work when you can't be bothered to articulate your own.

ME 2 is a RPG.

See, I'd be inclined to agree, but the opinion is apparently in the minority around here. I thought it was an RPG when I bought it, but apparently having way too many useless skill levels and equipment is vital for a game to be part of the genre.

How does one make something great...

...what is already great?

I've played the same character 3 times with the exact same choices, and countless others, it just never gets old.
