I'm working on a single player module and I have a party member that is a dog. I followed the followers tutorial and everything works fine, including his abilities. The one thing that I can't figure out though is how to make it so he can just equip collars and paint. Anyone know how to do this?

Did you see the FAQ at the end of the tutorial? Line 78 of packages_base in packages.xls (Dog) should have the LevelUpTable column set to 257 which is the ALDog table.

Yeah, I did that. It made the level up abilities work, but his equipment is still normal human sets.

why would you want to change it... a dog in heavy plate armor with a sword and shield is epicness incarnate

In the EquipmentLayout 2DA, for my dog character's follower id and tag I have
AvailableEquipmentSlots=794624
Layout=2
EnableWeaponSets=0
AvailableEquipmentSlots=794624
Layout=2
EnableWeaponSets=0
