I love animals..cats and dogs, parakeets..etc etc.

My current dog is just under 2 years old, when my hubby comes home the dog sits in the recliner chair and watches tv with my husband. The dog is a mixed breed, Shephard and Huskie. I have a baby picture of him, but no way to put it on the Net ..til I figure how to fix my scanner lol.

He still thinks he's a baby ( the dog that is) is a big boy and tries to climb into my lap, unfortunately he doesn't fit there any more. :D

No pictures for now.

Cat named Hobbes, who is terrified of strangers.

Samoyed named Murphy (after Murphy's Law), who loves to collect odds and ends from around our house and hide them behind furniture. He also loves to eat our shoes, often while we are wearing them and walking around.

In the past I've had another Samoyed named Strider for short, registered name Aragorn of Westernesse, I believe (went blind in one eye and got snappy, had to be put to sleep), a Siberian Husky named Captain, registered as Captain Goblin of Zulu Company, a Mechcommander homage (got past our invisible fence and hit by a car), a German Shepherd/Malamute mix named Nikki (after the Disney movie character of the same name; contracted bone cancer in her leg and had to be put to sleep after the pain got too bad for her meds), a mutt of unknown origin called simply Gal (had a stroke and eventually had to be put to sleep), and a few puppies that for one reason or another failed to survive long enough for me to remember much of them (worms within a week of acquiring, encounters with traffic, etc.).

All in all our dogs other than Strider were great with cats (especially Hobbes, despite how much she hats our dogs usually), though Strider himself was clawed by a cat in his youth and ever since would go hunting for them; suffice it to say that only one cat survived encountering him (my Aunt's pet, who was a wiley thing that would perch on tall furniture and taunt him).

I have a Shiba Inu thats tri colored (black/tan/white) named Wasabi. I'll have to try to host a picture, he's pretty cute, loves to chase things etc. However, he is also the devil incarnate, the little sneaky mischievious dog he is. He's very good at sneaking into pantry's, cubbards, and closets if no one is looking.

That looks almost exactly like my cat Blizzard did when he was younger. He no longer has ears though, as they got infected with cancer, so they had to be removed :(

I'll upload pics of my pets (2 dogs, 1 cat) as soon as I get some on my PC, may be a while though as I'm currently quite busy with assignments and exam prep <_<

Unfortunately I don't have any pets right now. My girlfriend and I are considering two different types of dogs. We're either looking at getting a boston terrier or a norweigan elkhound. I'm hoping to maybe have one by christmas though.

To be honest, Superium it's how my fiancee and I met, on World of Warcraft.

It's an interesting story, perhaps I'll share it sometime if anyone is interested in hearing it. :)

Er.. wow.  Talk about different dogs.

If I may?  All Northren Breeds (aka spitz/wolf like dogs), like the Elkhound, are extremely difficult.  They require early and constant *dominate* training, along with hours of full out exercise and mental stimulation.  If they don't get that they will destroy things.  They're great dogs when you have the time and the space for them, but most people don't, and I definitely don't reccomend it as a first dog unless you know the breed pretty well.

Boston Terriers are a very good choice for a first time dog (whether you've had dogs or not, before, I mean a first 'on your own' sort of dog).  They' funny, sweet, and unlike a lot of toy breeds, they aren't stubborn about training.  Keep in mind though, if you live somewhere really hot, you can't exercise them too much, and like all smooshy nosed dogs, have trouble breathing, pass gass A LOT, snore, and generally have a lot of health problems.

If you're deadset on a purebred (there's nothing wrong with that, purebred breeders are not the reason there's such a huge overpopulation of pets) do consider looking into purebred rescues or your local animal shelter before getting one.  Roughly 10% of all shelter dogs are actually purebreeds, and there's tons of rescue orginations out there.

Sorry if I was out of line.
