One more day to go (Thursday). I wouldn't expect any more reveals, just more details. I did notice on Gamespot (I think) stuff about Wiedzmin 2 (Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!), New Vegas and Hunted - The three games I care about this year.Capt. Obvious wrote...
So is that it for E3 or is there still more on the way?

Nintendo died for me. They showed off their crappy gimmicks as usual and I didn't see all of the conference so I only saw one game. Epic Mickey. Another horrific attempt to make disney look badass. Another game that will hopefully be forgotten.

For me, the only thing really worth while in the whole conference was the new Zelda. That game I intend to play. The rest are big ifs.
As for the new controllers and game play methods, well they look neat. But they are progress, not end products in themselves. It will only be after we see the games that are played with them that they can be said to be successes or failures.

I really enjoyed Twilight Princess with the Wiimote controls. I felt it was responsive and intuitive. According to all the demo crowd, this new Zelda will be that much better with the controls. I am very hopeful for this one, and quite honestly, Nintendo has proved me wrong from initially being a nay-sayer when the Wiimote was first introduced.

PS3 had some cool games showing. Portal 2 is looking noice along with Asassin's Creed Brotherhood. The new Metal Gear however, won't be the same without Snake.
Xbox 360 is looking good. Don't care about the gimmicky slim/natal bollocks, the games are the important bit. And my my. Halo: Reach is shooting for a potential Game of the Year. I've been following its progress for a while and now it is really out doing its self. Have to love it.
Gears, 4 player co-op could be cool, though knowing gears, it'll probably be exactly the same to its precursors.
COD: BO (lol) from what i'm seeing is same old Treyarch crap. I'm not going for it at all.

The main reason I buy games is so I can play co-op with my friends. I mostly find it quite boring to play video games alone. For me games that improve upon co-op, both online and off, are the one I primarily want to look at. This is why Lost Planet 2 is crap IMO. They messed up co-op bad.

In fact i'm pretty sure the highest selling PS3 game, Metal Gear Solid 4, was only about quarter of the sales of Halo 3 and even less when you compare wii titles.

His comments regarding the SPE was absolutely correct, especially for multplatform games.

It is a fact most multiplatform games are better on the xbox360 than on the Playstation 3 due to the consoles architecture with very few exceptions.

When Gabe Newell came on stage, what he was speciically talking about what Sony allowing third party, not that he has backtracked on the technology, I don't even think he brought it up.

I garentee you the reason for this is due to Microsofts attitude. If there is one thing we have learned, it's that Valve are great, and even though the Playstation 3 may be more difficult to get a quility closer to the pc or Xbox360, he should probably get a round of applause for going on stage and trying.

which is great and a lot of people want that. but charging 60.- for that and just a "new" version of the game..no.

Sales numbers are not the same as profitabilityRubbish Hero wrote...

This is irrelevant when you are talking about profitability, that is not directly related to sales. Little Big Planet, for example, is an incredibly profitable game regardless of having "only" 3m sales. There were only 28 salaries to pay and the marketing was not overly expensive.Rubbish Hero wrote...

This is not a fact, it's a preference and a generalization.Rubbish Hero wrote...

Sony allowing third party what? Make clear comments please. Gabe Newell ate his words on that stage, on what is being referred to as an apology to sony. I don't understand why you are so intent in trying to twist this: the man himself says Sony proved to him they are the most open platform, when he had said they were not.Rubbish Hero wrote...

Maybe if you read my entire posts instead of trying to argue about what he meant, intended and did you would see I think he deserves kudos for doing this the way he did.
I don't care if he was right or not. What happened was funny, and if you don't see it then that's your concern not mine.

Inferior according to whom? I have both version of 3 of those games and disagree. Also, there are hundreds of multiplatform games, 4 titles are certainly not representative of "most"Rubbish Hero wrote...

Yeah, I can see what you're saying. My example of Lost Planet 2 is particularly on par with your point. Some of the major complaints in the many reviews I read were the lack of improvements in the things identified in the first that sucked. Basically, Capcom basically ignored them and rehashed those issues.
The same could be said of Gears 3. If it's just a "new" version of 2 without any signficant improvements, changes, or other advancements, that would definitely not be a worthwhile purchase. That's the same problem people have with MW2. And I'd agree with them. The game's certainly not bad but it's also hard to look at it and see how it's necessarily BETTER than its predecessor. More of the same old crap can be very bad.

Nobody is saying anything about superiority, you sound like a fanboy for bringing it up. Gabe Newell made a lol. That's all there is to it.
