They said the same thing about the wii, it has destroyed the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 in terms of sales.
Now they are actually attempting to mimick it, badly.

I want kinetic or natal or whatever it's called. I am mad they have a new updated 360 elite when my elite is the older version
I know. What's the point of the "new" 360? It has a bigger hard drive and built in wi-fi. That isn't what I was expecting at all. It just doesn't seem practicla to release something like that. Why not just start selling 250g hard drives?

The Wii is a full console though. Kinect is just an acessory for a console that itself cost almost as much as a console.

The fitness aspect, however can be very interesting, albeit not from a full cardio perspective. It would be nice to get feedback on yoga poses and the like, for example.
Now I will comment something that people seem to be missing: Microsoft purposefully asked on stage more women than ever in any E3 conference. This is very interesting and should be taken note of, as we see the change of focus of one of the mayor players in the industry.

the only advantage I see it having over my elite is 802.11n wifi which doesn't matter to me because I use a wired network for my consoles.

It is about an inch an a half sorter and a small fraction thiner, by the pictures I saw.Busomjack wrote...
Is this new Xbox360 slim supposed to be smaller? Looking at it it looks exactly the same size as the regular Xbox360.

If the Kinect or whatever leads to the development of a new game like Time Crisis, then it might be worth it. I really miss using my old light guns on the TV. I wonder if they work with LCD screens...?
Ok, regardless of what I said before, Kinect on a 3D hdtv would be awesome.

Oh my God! They're making a NEW NEED FOR SPEED HOT PURSUIT GAME!!
YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hot Pursuit I and II are probably my favorite racing games of all time! FINALLY The Need for Speed series is returning to it's roots!
You and I have something in common my friend.
On-topic: I wasn't as impressed with Ubisoft's press conference as I was with EA's press conference. But hey, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier make up for this. Anyway, I agree with one of the previous posters he about Ubisoft's press conference: too many fitness games.
