I sold my Wii because I hadnt played it in over a year I really hated it.
TP and RE4 were the only 2 games I liked on it but got fed up with the controls. I prefer it with a controller where I can sit happily playing into the early hours of the morning. I never really felt that with the wii eventually I would get fed up with the awkwardness. I agree with you on the full slashes it doesnt lend itself to hours of playing. Im not just hating on the Wii I dont like motion controls at all. It feels more like a tacked on gimmick to me rather than a genuine control method.

Fair enough, but I have to say that RE4 was better on the Wii than on any other platform and kind of kicked ass. I felt that the Wii controls really worked for that game.

I actually agree with you. It felt smoother. But for some reason I just got fed up with that too, think it was because I had already finished it 3 times before.

Sony seems to be placing a lot of emphasis on 3D, but I have to say that so far they are focusing more on games that gamers will enjoy than Microsoft did.

Watching the sony conference and I'm far more interested in the 3DS than I am in sony's 3D. Every time he says that sony is leading the 3D charge I snicker and think nintendo has them beat. In the end though it really depends on how much the 3DS costs.

Well, I think it's hard to compare a portable device to something played on a TV. They both offer something unique, but I don't see them as competitive products.

True, it's just that I'm not interested at all in sony's 3D or their playstation move thing they're currently doing. During Nintendo's talk about the 3DS I was glued, during sony's I'm posting on a forum. It's only my personal opinion, I'm no hater.

If Sony doesn't bring the games, no one will care that they are in 3D, this is true and the same is true for move, hopefully they really start showing some off.

Heh, funny how the boring sorcery game they're showing is far more interesting than anything microsoft showed for kinnect (except maybe star wars thing once it's more developed.)

And there is a game, and it is actually a game, not yoga. Plus, it looks pretty damn cool! Good job, Sony.

Sorcery looked kind of like it was mroe for younger gamers, but it was a legitimate game and the controls looked pretty fluid, it might even be kind of fun.

Oh joy sports, sigh. I guess that sports games has a strong following but it doesn't stop me from not caring about sports games. I find it much more fulfilling to actually play sports in real life.

I don't think I'll pick this game up either, but for golf fans, it does look like the technology has the potential to offer a more immersive experience. The same could be said for the punching mini-game on Kinect as well though.

The same can be said about Kinect on a whole. It's pretty much just a mini-game machine right now. I want to see it incorporated into real games before I can decide whether it could be as revolutionary as they, and I, think it can be.

Heroes on the move looks amusing, but I probably won't bother with it, I'm not that good at platformers.

Right. I think Sorcery is the standout though. That appears to be an actual game that is made better by the inclusion of the move, everything else I'd call a draw.

They really didn't show anything about Heroes on the Move, it could be great, but it's hard to say anything about it.

Funny you guys bash on Nintendo when the new Zelda is the only game out that makes full use of one-to-one motion sense mechanics for its sword fighting.

Kevin now and it seems that it's about to get interesting... He's talking about games and he's the first person on stage who's actually funny.

Zelda is the only sword game we've seen this year for any motion control system besides the Star Wars game for Kinect which looks like it could be promising with more time. It also looked pretty clunky in the demo, though that could be simply because of interference, we can't say much about how it controls until we see someone demo it properly.

I thought he had charisma, but he isn't a game, so yeah, get out of here.

Yeah, but he's claiming full one-to-one motion capture. It's a pretty bold and ambitious claim. But if my understanding is correct, that's the only game to make that kind of claim for it's full core mechanic so far.

I suppose I can't blame you guys for not liking Kevin, but my love of stand up comedy rivals my love of video games so I wanted more of him. He wasn't on stage long enough.

Bit of a price fail. Only one wand for $100? It might be cheaper than the Kinect, which is looking like it will retail for $150, but if you need 3 more wands for your family, you're looking at a $250 price tag, if I did the math right.

I thought the Sony guys were using the phrase one-to-one pretty much constantly...

I don't know Dance Central has potential to be pretty good and pick up where DDR left off, the Fitness game though is just there to cut into the Wii Fit market

EDIT:  helps justify Kinects price is you only need one Kinect for everyone to play with, while Move and Wii Motion Plus you need X amount for family and friends plus accesories

Still ~$150 is a bit pricey
